That's great they're taking care of it. Kind of surprising too, since the owner isn't stepping up. He might be on the way out anyway, that's why he's shitty over paying to make it right.

Glad they got a new bumper skin coming man! Fingers crossed for a professional install :fingerscrossed:

I hope this new tech does it right and gives the original guy shit for doing a crappy job the first time and not owning up to his mistake!

Glad they are stepping up and making it right. Be sure they follow the SSO instructions. I also found this thread to be possibly even better for install instructions:

3rd Gen SSO Slimline Hybrid Bumper/Winch install guide - How To Article with Tips. (sorry, not an actual link)

There are specific, modified instructions for not taking too much material off the sides of the plastic bumper. It's a revised cut line from the original SSO instructions. My SSO instructions had both. But, also read the thread I cited.

If you want to have real confidence they won't screw it up, you may want to visit the shop before cutting, when they have taped the cut line to ensure they are going to cut correctly.

Got a call from the shop manager/ owner today. Says the new bumper is on-hand awaiting paint. If all goes according to plan, I’ll have this wrapped up this week.

My buddy got tires on his Taco at this shop, requesting specifically they mount a tire size that won’t rub. Guess what, the tires and size the shop RECOMMENDED are rubbing pretty good. He is hoping they’ll give his money back or replace with a correct size.

Well the time has come - the shop has fixed their mistakes. Here are photos from today after picking up the truck. Bumper was trimmed properly.

Did they fix the problem? Yes.
Was it handled professionally? Not really.
Will I be going back? NOPE.

The fine members here at TW have spoken. I’ve lost confidence in The Truck Shop. Take this post and my concerns as you will. I’ll never be back there.
