    Fam,

I have a new set of 17" SCS Ray 10s sitting in the garage and I've got my eyes on some new meats.

    Are there any Pros/Cons to:
    A. Removing TPMS sensors from stock wheels and installing on new wheels
    B. Install a new set of TPMS sensors that Discount Tire sells on the new wheels

    Does it matter?

I do intend to keep the stock wheels. I will box them up in the new wheels boxes and store them in my garage for later.

    Thank you for your advice.

It is all about $$ to spend.
A maybe cheaper and does not require to program ECU with new tpms IDs.
B - you can find tmps for $20/per wheel, but need to have software (techstream) to add IDs to ECU. They wil charge you for ECU programming. BTW, Software is free

just buy new set of oem tpms if you are planning to put the stock ones back on in the future.

When I bought the wheels/tires I currently have on my Gen2 from Discount Tire about 4 years ago, I had them remove TPMS from stock wheels and install in the new ones ones. They then remounted and balanced the stock tires on the stock wheels and I sold them as-is.

I swapped mine over since I have a 2020. I didn’t want to spend about $160-$200 on new sensors just to have practically new ones sitting and not getting used for years, or forever.

do you plan on switching back to oem wheels? If so, buy a new set.
