    2in front level, 17” Methods, 265/70/17 tires
I currently have a 2017 TRD 4x4 Off-Road Tacoma, almost stock. I added a 2in level in the front just to clean up the look and have 17in Methods on 265/70r17 tires. Nothing special. (The tires came on these rims when I bought them.. I know they look like shit but figured I would burn them up since they still had tread)

I would like to be able to clear 285/70r17, possibly even 285/75r17, without cutting and trimming. I dirt bike, camp, and snowboard so I spend a fair amount of time on dirt And backcountry, but nothing crazy. I wanted to wait for my truck to get its own natural nicks and dings before going all out on it.

Including tires, I’d like to stay under $5k, so ~$4k... I’ll be doing all the work myself (yes, I have experience). Every-other truck I’ve owned had already had work done so I was adding from something else, this will be my first time starting from scratch on something new so I want to do it right.

    Any advice I’d greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Search 3'' Lift. I got a ton of information. There's a lot of different opinions on combination types and styles. Wish I had your budget!!!

I have a 2nd gen which I’m 99.9% sure has worst tire clearance issues than the 3rd gen and I’m clearing 285/70r17s on 2inches of lift with no cutting or trimming. At full lock and full flex it comes a dickhair from the cab mount and I very rarely will rub a little in reverse, I did however ziptie the plastic in the front of the wheel well back a little bit. My wheel specs are 17x8.5 -10 so if yours are more aggressive you may run into problems

You’ll like need to cut, trim, or mold some things to clear those tires. The people who say they don’t rub are the extreme minority and many of them still do actually rub but are ok with it.

You’ll need to factor in wheel backspacing, alignment specs from UCA and even then it might not be enough.

I have friends rubbing on 265/75 tires with 3” lift and camburg UCA

You can go with a 255/85 skinny but if you want 285/75 then expect some work.
