The guy that's been trying to sell the house across the street from me may finally have a buyer.

In the meantime he's trying to sell some stuff that he still has there.

Selling this generator... Says he used it only twice and it was just to run for a bit to make sure it was working. New they are about $1k at Home Depot. Selling it to me for $600

No Nuno, don't see it that way. This is a rare 2 week pause where you can actually just spend time with the kids. Go play on the swings, play tag in the back yard. Take a nature walk. No activities, just family. Go have a 5 hour brunch with the grandparents. Teach the oldest how to use a hammer (but NOT on Mom's furniture or walls! LOL). Embrace a rare & special opportunity.

I can't decide to take the truck for a drive or to go for a walk. What a beautiful day. Dog getting delivered for 2 weeks today. She tends to slide off the seat in the Taco so maybe we'll call it a walking trails day.

 

I think it's just more of the uncertainty of it all that's probably getting to me.

I'm frustrated I can't buy Lysol. Actually at this point annoyed. But people will reach their stockpile comfort zone soon, then the retailers will be allowed to catch up again. All the public facilities will be cleansed, then will open again - perhaps with more handwashing stations. Things must begin again.

 

Fingers crossed. I just wanted some normality again.

 

I think you should drive the truck to a nice fire road, park it, and then take a nice walk with your dogs. Head down by one of the rivers or reservoirs.

 

Once you get the generator started, test it with a "load" (electric leaf blower, electric space heater, or any other electric item with a high demand).

@Cativelense you need to listen to this song and chill tf out. @Breakfast Taco has it 100%. You always complain about your work and shit being crazy and no time etc... etc... Well here is the answer to all your requests. Stop watching mass media panic news, and realize the threat to you and your family is basically 0% as far as serious issues. I'd stay away from grandparents though if you guys are going to public places first.

I'm not trying to be aggressive so sorry if it comes off that way. I just really think its a rare pause, and most people aren't at risk of serious issues, so lets take advantage of it!

I guess once you are so used to the routine, regardless if it's good or bad, that's the normality that you're used to. And not having that makes me freak out I guess. I'm a creature of habit... I like the routine, regardless of good or bad. Makes me feel "comfortable". Meh... I'll get over it one way or another I guess.

Definitely. And then to have that "fear" of going out anywhere and putting myself at risk, and bringing that shit home and spreading it to my wife and kids... No bueno.

 

Makes sense, I think we are all creatures of habit and routine to a degree..and I surmise as a parent you have to become one.

Yeah, it’s killing someone’s grandmother or something that is a lot of people’s worry, not the danger to themselves. Luckily children have been relatively unaffected.

 

Bicycles..a motorcycle is one battle I will never win with my wife

 

Hopefully it'll stay that way, the kids unaffected part. Last thing I want to do is give ANYTHING to my kids.

 

LOL. No bicycle unfortunately. He does have a motorcycle, but I think he's planning on keeping it.

 

Same reason I'm avoiding my parents, and my sister's kids
