I installed my relatively low budget but effecting catch cat on my 150k mile 2nd gen taco about 3 months ago at the start of an oil change. Getting ready to give her a new change and this is what I discovered...It separated fast once I put it in a water bottle, there was a bit of sludge too in the bottom of the catch can.

There is no doubt water in there... The mileage between oil change was about 4000. Where does the milkiness come from? How concerned should be? Headgasket failing?

It's normal moisture from the heating and cooling action inside the engine bay.

Mine catch’s more watery/milky stuff in the winter.
Cold temps and idle time short trips make more condensation best guess.

Yes link please! Makes me feel better though already. I thought for sure. Here we go... blown head gasket... time to tear her down. I wish I installed this 100k ago. I wonder how many GALLONS slipped through my fingers into my intake :(

OP - being that you live in a cold climate, I would suggest that you empty the catch can weekly during the cold months. Depending on idle times and length of your daily trips, the catch can will fill up quickly in cold weather and at times actually freeze. I empty ours weekly and that seems to avoid any issues.......

I am so surprised. I have one in my Dodge Challenger and I only need to dump that once every 3-4 oil changes. (I do every time) but "technically. I just was surprised after this initial install. I for sure will crank up my diligence. Man, I wish I could go back in time. My poor baby :(
