Nope, but it sure would help if they put some actual pictures on their website instead of a monster holding up a drawn tent

Not that I'm in the market rn, but I'm not a fan of the giant Ratfink logo on the side of the tent.

Picked up the Tepui today, but it's raining like crazy so gonna unpack it later.

The Crag +4 looks huge and nice. Looks being the important word here.
More photos on their site would really help, and the logo does not bother me. Originally come across the brand watching old Overland Expo videos. Very little info on them, and a site free of information is not a good start for a business. Seems like you guys know as much about them as I do.

They are a smaller company but I had no trouble communicating with the owner through FB when I had some issues ordering off his site.

That is how I have done it. Even with the 140lbs 76" CVT. I did it once with the 48"190lbs Tepui as I had not reconfigured the lift for a tent.
The lift makes it very nice, reduces chance of injury, and stores it nicely up and out of the way.

What would be some good protection on my bars so I am not ripping off the paint every-time i load the tent on? About to throw some paint on.

@unk I got a set from this group buy. Doubt they are still making them, but maybe you could use the idea to get someone to make them for you. I love my set, they work so well.

You can buy sheets of kydex from Amazon or a half dozen other places. Cut four pieces and pop in the oven at 275ish for 15 minutes. Pull out with good thick gloves and set on the bars and you can hand form them around the bar.

    Hi all,

Bought a used Roofnest Sandpiper for $1000, in fairly good condition but obviously with some attention needed.

All 4 latches are busted. Previous owner received new latches from Roofnest but didn’t install them. OEM latches are riveted on and hidden behind insulation layer on the inside. Replacement latches are nut and bolt. Advice on how to replace? Has anyone had to replace their latches?

Guess Im having a hard time understanding whats going on there. having never seen one of those units in person.

Your last picture makes it look like theres either snaps or screws that would release the quilted padding stuff. From there couldnt you drill the old ones out and rivet new ones on? Though I would think appropriately sized bolts with large fender washers and nyloc nuts would be a more robust solution in the long run.. Probably spread the load out

    Where in NH are you?

Apologies for the not so great picture quality. The interior insulation layer; quilted looking liner, is kept in with other rivets and a metal band on the inside.

It almost appears like I will have to drill through the latches from the outside, and drill through the quilted liner. I agree rivet replacements would probably be a better option but the factory replacement latches came with nuts and bolts.

I’ll try giving Roofnest a call and report back.

    Also, in Canterbury NH here

I suppose worst case, you could just do a fender washer and nyloc nut over the quilted liner on the inside..

How did the previous owners manage to screw up the latches that badly? I'd give roofnest a call or email and see what they say for the replacement procedure

when I had my Roofnest, I hated that everything was riveted. Rivets arent meant to hold that much weight. And my fat ass broke the ladder on the first time opening it

Id see if you can pull the inside material back enough to get your fingers in there.

Why did you decide to get rid of your roofnest?
