We will be finishing our entire semester on-line here at the college and will transition to a work-from-home environment by Wednesday. Have also cancelled/postponed Commencement....and my retirement roast. It's going to get worse before it gets better - first case documented in the county just below ours so it's just a matter of time before it gets to us.

Be safe..but don't panic. We'll get through this!!

I'm happy to have it cancelled...but feel free to make a donation to the scholarship fund that was established (anonymously) in my honor. Actually, that's the only reason I agreed to do anything - I wanted to have all the money go into the fund to help our students.

The lines at the Conshohocken liquor store are getting long on the day before the suburban state stores close. Bonnie Stills, 64, of Conshy, told me she was buying a handle of gin and 2 bottles of wine because “I’m gonna be stuck in the house with my husband, that’s why.”

Well, we survived the funeral. There’s probably a joke in there somewhere. Nobody touched anybody. Lots of of jokes about novel ways to not shake hands. Aunt Ada outlived 4 husbands and one boyfriend, and we couldn’t hug each other at her memorial. But her granddaughter did play “My Way” by Sinatra, which was a great send off.

No restaurants open in the area so no get together after the service. So we brought my mom and dad back to our place and made lunch. Took them back to their place, got back home, and saw that Governor Wolf wants the whole state to shut down for two weeks. He basically wants everyone to stay home the whole time. I think he’s trying to create a fire break and I’m with him. Then my folks called and their place has declared that they can’t leave anymore unless it’s medical. I agree with that too. Let this grim reaper pass our door. We can pick things up after.

Been a few weeks since l have been on.
    So Good Morning yo all!!

Amazing times and changes we are in right now. Most all of us have lived through a number of different bugs during the years.l think the first time l remember getting the flu back in middle school at Christmas break.Sick as a dog for the entire 2 weeks off. Can’t remember the name, but it was awful. No big announcements about it being a pandemic. Can remember Walter Cronkite taking about it on the evening news.No hipe, just old fashioned non biased reporting. This current mess of reporting is like the Weather Channel on a hurricane, supersized!! (Maybe a Cat 10:eek:).
All in all,my wife and l are taking it seriously. We always have 3-4 weeks of canned goods, dried beans, and different kinds of rice. For me,it has been a little bit of a challenge because l’m a vegetarian. Please don’t judge. So far fresh veggies and fruits have been plentiful.l went to the grocery store at 7am Saturday and there was just 5 people, plus staff. And they were cleaning when l got there. When l got back home,l cleaned my truck on all the surfaces that l touched and washed my hands.
Thats about any of us can do at this point.
    Stay clean out there!
As always,we will get through this mess!

Good Morning Folks:hattip:. Today starts the 14 day closure of the airport down here. No new international arrival. This also means no planes coming in to fly home on:annoyed:. Delta, American and Jet Blue have already notified ticket holders of cancelations. We are ticketed with United and havent heard or been able to contact them:facepalm: so we just extended a week which hopefully takes us to the end of the airport shutdown. Maybe i'll get home by labor day if the virus continues:notsure:.

Good morning, all! Winding down our on site work at the College and should be pretty much working from home by the end of the day - most folks are already gone with just some essential folks who we are working with to issue computers and train the staff on how to access our system from home.

Stay safe down there, Ken!! I hear sun and salt water are great ways to fight off the virus!!

It sounds like an extended vacation stops being a vacation when it gets extended too long! Hoping for the best for you and keeping good thoughts -- as I sit here at home eating beans out of cans. ;)

We found out this morning that my wife's daughter and family are stranded in Dominican Republic. They flew down late last week for a short vacation, now they can't get home. We were trying and trying to contact them but getting no reply, so we're relieved to know they're okay.
