    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
Yes, I know there are threads out there, a million and two of them.

Here is what I am going to do to my 2008 SR5 Access cab 4WD.

Looking for - your input/thoughts/suggestions/help. Thank you.

Miles driven last year approx. 2K, expecting it to be no more than 4/5K on average moving forward.Very little off road, probably occasional, once this work is done.

Want:Small lift no more than 2 inches, I have a plow and don’t want to have issues with that.

Truck has 174K miles so I’m willing/wanting to put new suspension and springs up front to renew ride and help with plow when it’s on, (most of winter). I tend to put it on, plow what I have to and then the truck will sit ready for next snowfall. I tend not to drive truck unless it’s real bad out.

I will be putting on 3rd gen OR take offs. In front (coil overs) and rear (shocks). Set up is said to have no more than 500 miles on them, they look dam clean.

I do have 17x7 wheels from a 4runner, want to use these.

Question 1 – what would it do if I put ¼ top plate spacers on?

Question 2 – thinking I don’t need to correct for Taco lean as I’m putting on factory set up (albeit 3rd gen).

    Question 3 – I don’t mind trimming if I have to.
    Tires – 265/70/17
    265/75/17
    270/70/17
    275/70/17
    Other??

    Question 4 – What did I forget?

So all that said, bear in mind, most of the time when I’m driving truck without plow, it should look cool. Not too bothered if front dips a little with plow on. Looking for even stance when plow is not on truck. Don’t like rake.

    I think that’s it.

I will be doing all the labor myself.

    1) You'd get about 1/2" of additional lift with those spacers. I did the 3rd gen takeoffs on my truck and added 3/8" spacers. Total lift in the front was about 1.5-1.75", I have the measurements somewhere but not on me. I also have 1" blocks in the rear and I think it's a good height. Personally, I think it'd look too high in the front without the blocks in the rear.

    2) Mine still has some lean. It's mainly dependent on how much gas is in the tank. Doesn't bother me, although I had thought about doing 1/4" spacers on the passenger side with 3/8" spacer on the driver side.

    3) I'm running 265-75-16 and they fit great. Your equivalent would be 265-70-17 which is 1" larger dia than stock. Most of those other tire sizes you listed didn't seem to have any tires available other than 275-70-17.

    4) Alignment! With this setup you shouldn't have a problem but you'll definitely want to get one done.

I did my install as well - it was a piece of cake!

Questions 1 and 2: 1/4 in top plate spacers will add 1/2" lift on the side they're placed on. I would recommend putting one only on the driver's side to correct "taco lean". This when the driver's side sits a little lower than the passenger side (i think due to gas tank being on that side). This will be worse after lifting the truck. I tried putting 1/4" spacers on both sides and had pretty bad lean, so I took the passenger one out. If you want a little more lift than the 3rd gen take-offs, consider using 1/4" spacer on the passenger side and 1/2" spacer on driver.

Question 3: I would recommend 265/70/17. These will fit even with a stock set up. 275/70/17 or 285/70/17 will require some trimming and either wheel spacers or negative offset wheels to keep your tire from rubbing on the UCA.

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
So now i'm re-thinking tire size. Still replacing stock coil overs with 3rd gen OR take offs. Would using a 255/80/17 mounted on the 4runner 17x7 wheels cause any rubbing?
