Here in Orange County there's a few cities with big Asian populations, and I noticed years ago that a lot of them wear the face masks in public all the time.
I think wearing the masks is just part of their culture because a lot of Asian countries have a lot of pollution.
So one day as I was driving through Garden Grove, CA I see this Asian guy standing on the corner wearing a mask,
then he pulls the mask slightly to one side so that he can take a drag off of his cigarette. Another :facepalm:moment..

Damn hoarders. My wife braved out the 45 minute line to get into Costco yesterday and got water, paper towels and TP. My last Walmart trip I did get some of the stuff no one wanted yet. Bison burger and beef cheeks.

I would offer you a nice plate of spaghetti with Italian sausage and bison meatballs but it's a long drive. Just made a big batch.

sorry mike. here's to hoping it just a good ol fashioned cold!

yup, bars are closed here too. Butte, MT my hometown goes all out for St Pats and all of hte bars are shut down, no parade. Not sure when the last time St Pats was canceled, if ever.
better get to the store and get some mints before theyre sold out too!

nah, I'm in a separate section of the building. Just seems dumb to me that they feel its necessary to wear the masks but not to cancel their appointment with their designer. people priorities are screwed up.

most of our staff is working from home. I parked on the south side yesterday because giant truck and i was the only one there. today we were officially closed to the public so i parked around back - figured the less visible our vehicles are from the street the most likely people are to keep driving by. still had quite a few folks cruising through the lot today. kinda felt like i needed to drop down and crawl on the floor every time i had to walk in the front of the building today.

ya gotta go first thing in the morning when they open and the shelves are stocked. or do any of your local stores offer online orders with curbside pick up? might be time to look into that. tyring to convince my folks to go that route.

nah....i'll just go around the place coughing with my mouth open and freak them out.

yeah. kinda looking forward to the no commute part and being able to actually cook myself lunch. i stay pretty tuned out at work anyways so no big deal there.

oh, and dont remind me...gonna be busy here for sure

lots of folks in Yellowstone and Glacier wear them here in the summer too. Some have "designer" ones made of custom fabrics, come just the generic ones.

I think the mask thing is about them controlling their germs out of politeness... A hard concept to grasp in general these days

only some of the shoppers are hoarding. others are preparing for their stay at home with kids... you need alot of food to feed your kids all week if they are home with you and they need TP, too.
We also need more TP, since most of us use TP at work or wherever else

Also: people are shopping for themselves, older parents and other relatives (no need for each person to go out and stand in line), and maybe neighbors. I personally know that my cousin went to Costco for her family, her parents, and my mom (dunno why she didn't ask me what I needed though!!!)
