2020 build coming in wrong this week

Thanks for all the reponses! I screen shot a couple messages from here and sent them to my sales guy. It lit a fire when one guy said he had to go to 15 dealers or out of town I guess. I got a confirmation that the truck isn't coming with the LED headlights. I got a conference call with the allocation guy and he called in a favor(7 1/2 weeks waiting) to some big dog at SET(Southeast Toyota) FL to allocate my original preference. Said they would move me to the front . After they allocate the DCLB, they will do a "DPMS" and send a request to Toyota to add the LED headlight and advanced tech. Which they can approve or deny. They said they saw some other recent builds like mine approved. Will update me Friday if they can allocate and get approval. Will definitely be a January delivery, but I'm getting what I wanted. Thanks for not letting me settle

 

You're the one paying for it. Get what you want.

 

The SET(Southeast Toyota) part code is: SC1000.

Side note: They said they are independent, can't do regional trades.

 

I looked in other regions outside of SET and noticed some of the same options were cheaper but also didnt have all the add ons. I tried to do my build in 10 different states online and not available

I'd look at it as an opportunity to get that truck even cheaper. I'm a staunch negotiator and am always looking for a way to get the price reduced. The LED headlights are great, I'm sure, but are they really necessary? Are you going to hate your new truck every time you get in it because there are less Lumens? Probably not. And if your honest with yourself, you don't want them because you need every drop of lumen you can produce so that you can safely navigate to the Piggly Wiggly, it's a bling thing. Car manufacturers laugh their way to the bank over stuff like this. You have people trading in their 2019 Pro for a 2020 Pro to get it in green, or for headlights or....whatever...We all play right into their hands.

So..my advice is to use it as a negotiation. And not just a couple hundred either. Remember, they've ordered this truck for you and in their minds it is sold. They don't want to lose the sale anymore than you want to wait for a new truck. You have the cards in your hand and they have a truck in their inventory that they thought was sold. Use it in your favor.

Well guess what?? I'm finally getting the truck I want in 20 days I found it myself by searching with filters on Toyota website with the LED headlights and advanced tech package and sent it to the dealer and added options Jan 18th. Soon 3.10.20 #6months

 

So close now! This is finally the correct build with the LED headlights and advanced tech package. Should be Monday unless it's quarantined

If time is an issue, tell them to swap the headlights for LEDs. If time isn’t an issue, wait it out again.

 

They don’t build you a truck, they try to find you a truck as close as possible to what u want. If the deaer told u that truck was made to order they lied to you. I’d want those LED’s at least...Maybe you can get the dealer to sign that they will install the LED’s for you after the fact

 

This is my second build. You find what Toyota is going to make that month on the website and make sure it has your mininum factory only installed options...ie. TRD Sport, dbl cab, LB, 4x4, (must add at factory > led headlights and advanced tech). After I found that I was able to add the rest of the options.

 

Only you can decide if it's a deal breaker but for me, LED package was a deal breaker. You'll pay just as much to get them done after market and it won't be as good. But you will have the freedom to customize it a bit more I guess.

Tacoma sales in my state (CA) were really low in Feb and they're pushing them hard this month. I don't know your situation but if it's anything like where I live, patience will pay dividends.
