Have to read between the trees, There appears to be a camp site on the other side of the creek.

*edit that is actually a stone quarry*

Www.4wdfarm.com. I dont know anything about this place or if it's even open anymore. I believe it used to be called field of dreams 4wd farm or something like that.
I'm near Syracuse and it looks like it's about 30 mins north of Syracuse.

Hopefully everyone follows the whole tread lightly thing. But like others have said, your just about SOL in New York. If there’s a trail worth hitting in New York, chances are your not supposed to be there. Iv heard of many places in pa. There’s Rausch creek off-road park in pa. Which is a pretty sweet place. You’ve got many class 6 roads in Vermont. Many class six roads in New Hampshire which can be pretty gnarly. Depending on where in New York you are, New Jersey has some dirt roads near hi point state park. You’ve got Wharton state park in central/south jersey.

Mettowee off road park just outside of Whitehall NY in Washington County. They have trails and also have a big off road race sometime in the summer.

Yeah, The title is changed to the next date that I decide to do a guided run there. It would be nice to go with someone who knows the area.

I’ve got a short list of interesting seasonal roads in the Catskills I’ve been exploring using the logic that if the land is green on google maps then it is public and if DEC or DEP have not put up a chain then it is a public access rd. I could put together a little ride going north from Windham, over South Mtn, Bates, Highknob, Leonard. It’s nothing a stock truck on ATs couldn’t do. Would be nice to have some friends to go out with and not worry about getting stuck or confronted by locals.

You want to be careful doing that. Make sure it is not a snowmobile trail, the fine for being caught driving a truck on one is quite steep (I was caught b/c they tracked me from some stuff I left behind. I plead guilty to the $150 littering ticket)

I'd be interested in doing some of these with fellow members.

someone from trout unlimited new york turned me on to andyarthur.org , he is an off the grid overlander, hunter/fisherman who travels all around the new york and surrouding areas and blogs about it. really great info, also, that turned me on to freecampsites.net which gives great information about public off roads, campsites, some of which happen to be on private property but we are allowed to use.

Thinking of taking the quad up to the Corinth mountain trails if time allows this weekend if anyone is interested. No trucks allowed dirt bikes and quads only .

Today I was in the Adirondacks camping and came across a fun little 1.2 mile-ish loop that trucks were actually allowed on. Off of Limekiln Lake Cedar River Rd (which is a dirt road itself, but well maintained (un)fortunately), in the Moose River Plains Camping Area. PM me for details if you want them, I have it plotted on Gaia. GPS: 43.68917, -74.75033

Nothing a stock tacoma can't handle, but fun none-the-less for someone looking to get off pavement and who may already be in/near the area. I have an '19 OR and had it in 4wd for most of it, but tbh idk if 4wd was really needed. I wouldn't take a vehicle with low clearance up it though, it was pretty rocky with mild clearance needed. I did hit my hitch ball once coming off a rise.

Others, if you have cool areas, PLEASE let us know! NYS is looking bleak on the Offroad scene right now.
