I appreciate the thoughtful and interesting response.

However, I gotta get back to these candles. Once the rolling black-outs hit, I figure I’ll be making huge bank with these wicks’n’wax.

I’ll look for you on Etsy. Can you make some Pro-Grille-Honeycombed? There’re a lot of guys on here that will pay extra for that sort of thing.

Find me on Etsy, search for TRDcandleman. I got pro candles for sale, but require a pro VIN to purchase.

A front facing camera really isn’t that difficult to install. Get the anytime front and rear and you’ll never go back

I grew up driving a 1967 Ford Galaxie 500. My tacoma is shorter than the hood of my Galaxie.

My Dad had a green 67 Galaxie 500 - first car I ever drove over 100mph. My first car - bought it with money I made working during the summer - was a '64 Ford Falcon Convertible. Then had a '66 Mustang that I bought from my Mom when she bought a '70 - talk about a long hood! My '66 got totaled sitting on the street by a dirver who fell asleep. That's when I got the '70 Boss 302.

My favorite was that Galaxie. Loved it. Got when I was 10 as a project car with dad, kept until I was 40 when the frame Toyota'ed in half. Had a 71 Mach 1 with the 6 foot of bonus hood in front of the radiator; good for burnouts not much else. 67 split window vette was super fun, as was the 67 charger. I miss all of them, aint nothing made today can touch them for looks or pure happiness when you sit in them.

I have a '96 BMW Z3 that I bought new sitting in the garage. It wasn't made for burnouts but it is a dream in the corners - the old classic roadster. That's my fun car now.

Obviously... We just test-drive our cars before buying them instead of jerking off over muh-tacomah and impulse buying out of blind must have it fanboism. Go install your raptor lights and put another sticker on your window, no one wants to listen to you bitching about your perceived poor choice.

Nah. If technology stopped evolving, NOW, we wouldn’t magically be whisked away to the dark ages. That argument doesn’t really hold up anymore.

The problem with tech and vehicles is stuffing every nook and cranny with NOVELTY technology. It’s mostly bullshit for suckers.

Yeah, ok. Fair. Ish. But A person doesn’t always have a spotter, and it’s better to be capable, independent of others.

I’ve noticed the people who live by this are typically the lowest on the human food chain if not for their cushy tech sector jobs. They have to defend it, it’s what keeps them relevant.

I understand. I too, only saw the sky when I was in this situation. But having a shorter hood wouldn't have done anything.

My concern isn’t the length. In fact, I have zero concerns, I’ve only mentioned in the past that the hood scoop removes a percentage of the drivers line of sight, no matter how tall you are or how high you stick your head out of the moon roof. Since I don’t have a hood scoop on MY truck, it’s not an issue for ME. I’ve just noticed wheeling scooped third gens that it’s noticeable. That said, the overall angle of the hood would help with that. But if I were given a choice to have the hilux hood or the ranger/ridgline hood (hella sloped) I would still opt for the current 3rd gen hood because it looks amazing. And as another poster said, it’s an exercise in memory. I’ll live with that.

Lots of assumptions there pal. I did test drive. I did notice the lack of forward visibility. I bought the truck anyway because I loved the truck and that was not enough to deter me from buying. I am not bitching, just discussing. I have no stickers on my windows and removed the factory stickers and badging. I have no interest in raptor lights. I still love this truck.

Not sure where all this rage comes from. Chill out before you blow a gasket.

You're bitching. It's not like the brakes failed, or its required 5 TSBs, 3 recalls, and a sunvisor fall out of socket. You bought it that way. Sell it or install a front camera, or i dunno call me crazy go wheeling with other people so you have a spotter and recovery options... but seriously quit your bitching.
