I'm carrying everywhere, except when I go to base. Still burns me up they haven't changed that yet. I guess commanders have the option given to them by ... abort before I rant myself into a ban.

How far are you from the capital?

 

Something like a 2 hr flight, or 20 hrs by road and ferry; my home is in Palmer, 45 min drive northeast of Anchorage.

 

Oh wow. I knew some parts of Alaska are only accessible by plane or boat, thought you'd be closer

It's a topic of discussion often. Population centers are basically Anchorage and Fairbanks. Capital is in Juneau (southeast AK). There has been talk of moving it here to south-central AK, but it always dies. Personally, I think the state senators and reps make too much extra money in allowances with it there, so they'll NEVER vote to change it. Politics is politics always, and greed is a core human trait...that's reality.
