Thankfully I never got around to swapping out my summer tires/wheels for my Blizzaks. We've had so little snow that with my highway commute I would have significantly shortened their life.
One of the few times that I have procrastinated where it actually work in my favor.
Of course it is only March and this is New England.

Really appreciate the info. Curiosity has me wondering why you found this out. Was it a scratch? Manufacturing defect? Rust:annoyed:?

Thats what I used too, I had some DJ speakers loaded up in my bed for a 100 mile trip, the rubbing made several bare spots on the header rail. I pulled it out and sprayed it and you cant tell where I sprayed.

None of the above and I'm not saying that this is factory paint/powder coat but if you're looking to touch up your accessory rails OR as in my case mounting accessories in your bed this paint has the same sheen and texture that the OEM rails have on them.

Finally getting around to mounting my recovery treads. Pics and what I did once done. A little over the top by some folks standards but I think they turned out very well. More on that later. Added a 2nd bed head accessory rail........, yup I said two. Now they're mounted securely with no banging against the bed when stopping and taking off.

With the exception of the 2nd rail everything is either aluminum or stainless.

If it stops raining I'll be able to remove and paint the second rail where I cut roughly 7" off each end to fit. And I have plans for the 7" pieces so there is no waste. Thought this thru for some time to achieve the result that I was looking for.

Few. Thank you Erick and John! My heart is beating again. I thought we might have found another rust source.

Is that tire marked Right Rear? Sometimes nothing works better than some percussive maintenance applied with a BFH.

Fyi, I swap out my OEM rims for steel ones with winter rated rubber every year. Each time I clean the matting surfaces and threads and then apply some graphite based anti-seize. Each year, the rim comes off with no issue.

I thought the Switch Pro was just too expensive so I found this unit instead for a fraction of the cost on Amazon.

My OCDness won’t allow that. So I’m afraid Switch-Pros is getting my money. I know it’s pricey, but the ability to set the color and brightness to match the rest of the panel with trigger wires for day/night dimming is a huge selling point. Made in America being another.

Edit: ...but it may be a good option for others, thanks for posting!
