You still get everything that makes it a raptor, if it had a 2.7 strapped under the hood ide pass but cloth seats and a entry level infotainment system isn't that much of a deal breaker.

I loved the test drive. Amazing power from the 450hp TT 3.5 V6 and it laughed at the two large potholes that were in the street.

Its alot more bud options than just those (no sliding window, no push button, no proximity key, smaller cluster screen, etc.), if you were comparing content between a TRD PRO vs a base model raptor, you get far more for less / the same was the point.

again, if those options really matter to a person, me personally ide take a bigger better engine/drivetrain over a push button start, sliding window ect.

    das just me though :notsure:

True, if its performance only then Raptor is the better choice, but let's be honest how many people are using their TRDs and Raptors as designed for...

One question regarding gen2’s: would you rather have a brand new (800a) base model Raptor or an 18-19 (802a) fully loaded Raptor? Something I’ve been thinking about. Leaning towards a 19 at minimum for Live Valve and WiFi hotspot (not sure why, but hey more tech)

I would rather have a newer 2020 base 800A model. And I would only consider a SuperCab because of my garage length. They come pretty loaded from the factory and I can live without leather, nav and PB start. I hear Ford has worked out most of the bugs on the 2020’s as well.

My dad's 14 and 18 have been flawless. And I agree, I'd go with a Supercab.

Thanks. That helps some! I’m just a sucker for tech. PTS/rain sensing wipers/BLIS etc etc. I also want brand new though, but not trying to throw down $70k+ Ha

I am a member of a Raptor forum and that seems to be the case for most owners. You do read about the occasional factory buy backs because of reoccurring problems, something you rarely see posted on TW.

My 16 was ;) but ya Ford gets alot of unnecessary bad rap on here. Mom's explorer was flawless (2013) and both Dad's raptors have been, little brothers 2010 exploder has even been good and sitting at 136k miles.

Here is the link. Go to the Gen. 2 2017+ section and read the “General Discussion” thread to get a feel from Raptor owners.

You gotta read the post about an owner who had a Ford service department employee take his truck home one night and put 400 miles on his Raptor without his consent. He had a dash cam that documented the entire joy ride.

I mean as far as people saying Fords are just giant hunks of garbage since they aren't Toyotas. But ya Pros get undue flack, though some Pro owners bring it on themselves buying them and then gutting them and building them up which could have easily been done with a Sport or OR, but thats always a touchy topic.
