2017 Tacoma Engine knock, tapp

Hey all. Recently for the past month or so I have been experiencing a strange engine tapping, rotating knock at idle. The noise does not progress with throttle only at idle speed. Some days it doesn't others it does. Posting here before i take it to a private engine shop for diag. If any one has had a similar noise plz help.

Wait until your engine is completely cold. Slip your belt off and run your truck for about 20 seconds no more than 30. I've had a similar noise and it ended up being my idler bearings and alternator. Although my truck has 200k miles on it. Regardless, it can help narrow your diagnosis. Also, check your oil level.
