My wife and I took a 2-week vacation and made our way out to Canyonlands, Moab, and then the Ouray, Telluride area. We slept in the back of the truck almost the whole time and had a really great time! The truck did great, and the only damage was the trailer wiring mount on the hitch.

on the way out there we Stayed at Vedauwoo Campground. We did a small hike for the sunset.

Since we were alone in Moab, I decided to only do Fins and things. Unfortunately, I only have videos of that. But our Campsite in Moab was EPIC! Moab 1.jpg

After Moab, We headed to Ouray so we can do Ophir pass to Telluride. This trail was pretty much just a rocky road but it had some great views!

We hung out in Telluride and camped on the very popular last dollar road. I would not recommend Camping here anymore. It was tough to find a spot just to park.

The next day we headed up Imogene pass towards Ouray. This trail was more technical and fun than I thought it would be. The truck handled everything Great, even the Creek crossing at the end. Imogene 6.jpg

After Ouray, we headed towards Denver, for a show at red rocks!

We had a great time, and cannot wait to go back!

While riding through Moab on trails , can you just pick any spot to camp out at ? Or does it have to marked or something . I’m going out there in the spring and have no idea what I’m getting myself into but I’d like to not break any rules lol

Well to start, Moab has tons and tons of trails. But the ones you see in 4x4 magazines are mostly all located in the Sand flats Recreation area. I believe you need to make reservations ahead of time for all of those campgrounds. We had made a goal not to pay for camping. So while we were in Moab, we would drive up into the La-Sals and find camp and then drive back down in the morning. Just do a lot of research, and look at tons of maps. I highly suggest paying for Gaia GPS.

    Have fun.

What an adventure and write up. Any suggestions for a trip to the UP? Closest I got was Copper Harbor on mtb trip a few years back
    Thanks in advance!

Copper harbor and Marquette are the best for mountain biking. There are tons and tons of trails and areas to explore in the UP. I really enjoy Drummond island! But that's on the totally opposite side of the UP for you. I think our next camping spot will be closer to the pictured rocks lake shore.
