Did you have any issues fitting this unit into your dash? I just installed this one, and for some reason I don't have enough space to put the black trim plate into the faceplate. I picked up the Scosche kit for the install.

It's real tight. Like wires have to be perfect for it to fit tight. I had to pull it out because I forgot to attach the parking brake sensor wire and gave up on getting it back in all the way. Maybe a spring project....

Just recently did front component speakers and rear speakers with new head unit. Go with crutchfield they have excellent advice for what you are trying to accomplish. All the harnesses and speakers mounts Are obtainable thru them also. I was a lil overwhelmed with the harness at first because of extra wires and no hookup noted. Call to tech support and they walked me thru the process seamlessly. Also had to call back for help with component speaker and cross over needing to splice wires for it to work correctly. Again spot on advice and just great service. System sounds much better now no amp added at this time

I too revamped the whole system. No jbl to begin with but went with pioneer hu, infinity components in all four doors, 10 in pancake sub behind the back seat, rf 4 ch amp and monoblock amp for sub. I ran all new wiring for everything and just left the factory wiring alone but disconnected. I used the axcess adapter for steering wheel controls and installed parking brake bypass. Pretty straight forward install but time consuming. I tapped into the wiring for camera at the plug near the dash fuse panel and now the image comes up on both the hu and rear view. Found a thread on here that explains how to do it, super easy and no problems thus far. I even added a set of hertz tweeters in the a pillars that I am running off the crossovers in doors for the components. After all of that, still the most amazing sound diffrence was from sound deadening. Lid, doors, back wall, and floor made the biggest diffrence, imo. All the advice given by other members is solid but suprised sound deadener wasn't mentioned. Just remember, the cheapest materials dont gaurantee the cheapest install. Decide how far you want to go, research the products you are considering, and plan the install beforehand. Otherwise you will be kicking yourself when you tear out stuff you already installed because you changed your mind or wern't satisfied with the results. The audio/visual section of tw is full of good intel.

I got it from fleabay. About the size of a quarter with, if I remember correctly, three wires. One purple goes to the brake wire coming out of hu. One green goes to keyed 12+ and one black/-. Wasn't too much either, about 20 bucks.

Search pioneer brake bypass. They range in price from 8 up to 30 dollars. I went with a seller who had high ratings. Its worth the few bucks more to not have to pull it back out and screw with it later.
