I got the ChiCom version on sale for $79 a couple of years ago, thinking it might come in handy for ball joints and stuff. Luckily I haven't needed to use it yet...

Not rebar but if he did in the kitchen what he did in the upstairs bathroom id did...

He used fine reinforcing mesh that was nailed to the subfloor every 3-4", and nice 4" twisted nails over the joists.

What a pain in the f'n ass it was prying that razor sharp shit outa there. Then all the 100's of nails to pry out.
Did similar crap on the walls too.
With all the tiles cement and drywall from that 12x10 room there was 900lbs of rubble I had to dump.

I had started that project just thinking not even an hour to bust up a thick scratchcoat time floor with my Hilti-sds.
    Lol was I wrong... :bananadead:

Lol I have a big Hilti... Yes have a chisel.

    but...

    chiseling it up is noisy...

But not even close to how noisy a 1" masonry SDS bit is when it goes straight down on a ceramic tile then into the cement...

I figure it'll be much easier to haul out all the tile and cement if it's been pre-broken down to gravel size chunks...

You know, you can just sweep it into buckets then... Sooo much easier then lifting big chunks...

    But wait , there's more...

Could use tin snips to take out all that mesh crap... but that would take tooo long...

Figure a cutoff wheel wheel will be much more efficient,

You know she said she wants this done fast you know...

Could use a screw gun for the subfloors and cabinets... but my impact screw gun may be a little faster....

I did not want to do the kitchen this spring or summer..... and she gonna know it... hehehehehehe

She'll be video conferencing every day, she wants to set her office up in the front living room, camera facing the front windows...

Too bad costume rental places are closed.... Otherwise I'd rent an ape outfit and bounce around the front porch while she's talking with the big wigs...

I'll have to come up with something creative....

If I do this right I'll be banished to the garage or my office and I can work on my truck then... c'mon warm weather....

As long as the mechanicals aren't up to SEMA standard...

I'm working from home this week. They just shut down the assembly line on Friday, furloughed all the production workers and about 1/4 of the engineering & administrative staff without pay. Monday will be interesting...

Either Italian or Portuguese by the way it was built "old country" style. They certainly had a connection for cement and tile.

Fortunately their budget must have run out after they got to the bottom of the basement stairs.
Basement was fairly easy to rip out.

She pulled the "it's all she wants for her birthday" crap to talk me into this....

Wow. That article is an eye opener, but at the same time I'm wondering if with all those provincial and federal measures in place, whether standard legal practices apply. And if I did take on my employer, how long would it take to resolve anything?

Currently I am still to report for my regular shifts at a gold mine (nothing essential about mining gold in a pandemic), but they implemented some "feel good" measures. Self-reporting, temperature testing, extra sanitation, smaller meetings, travelling with fewer people. But the mine still has employees from all over Canada travelling, and when we take the cage down (elevator thingy), we are all in close proximity for 5-10 minutes. If we get one case up here, it will spread like Australian wildfire.

    ummm .....ya.
Interesting article...the Railroad will continue to run as it is deemed an esential service. Plus I think CP would make me run trains through nuclear fallout. If I voice concerns aboud Covid-19, it would be met with.."are you refusing duty?" ....which is brings heavy disipline. So I continue on with my Lysol spray and disenfectant wipes! There are only myself and a Conductor in the cab.... its impossible to social distance in that enviroment.
I should mention that we service both Toyota Woodstock and Cambridge and them shutting down has not gone without cuts to our work force as well.
I think we all hope this is short term.

I am a wildlife and habitat manager for a non profit organization and take care of a 5400 acre crown owned Wildlife Area.

There are only two of us so we have cancelled our volunteer help programs and as of this week we are alternating days that we work from home on the laptop. So therefore I will have fieldwork every other day solo. We will both work alone and that's a good thing.

A diploma or degree in natural resource management and the ability to GPS map in Arc GIS. It is a unique job with everything from administration, writing funding applications, fixing Tractor's and snowmobiles and teaching kids how to hunt!

I operate a 15 foot flex swing mower to restore grassland habitats for about six weeks straight each year in the late summer early fall
