If you have the right tools its not too hard. The hardest part was getting the CV axle out and then replacing the seal. I would probably leave the seal alone if i were to do it again

Installed DMM. Didn't have a #10 bit, stores were closed. Started with a 3/16, very tight fit, then redid holes with a 13/64 and that made things much easier.

Between the un-holey mount (too little) and the 3tpam (far too much), I think I'm ordering the DMM this week. Install went nice and smooth other than the missing drill bit?

Been going back and forth on this for a while, but finally pulled the trigger on a Softopper and got it installed. Still have some fine-tuning to do but love the quality and look so far - wasn’t too sure on the color before I bought it but really diggin it. 6483B27E-B031-4144-88F3-CAFA97770E57.jpg

Also did some chrome deleting on the exterior. Used the rustoleum paint and primer in satin black. Washed, scuffed with 180 & 1500, washed and applied paint.

Yes, it was very easy. If you don't have a #10 bit handy, then drill the 3/16 holes with the DMM mounted. Then take it off and go through the holes with the 13/64. I also had to trim a little by two tabs to tighten a couple nuts on the backside, and the notches for charging cables. But that was real easy to do with a dremel or similar tool. I used one of the carving bits.

Laughed in the face of chinavirus, went to the dealership and traded in my 2016 DCSB MGM manual, for a 2020 DCSB MGM manual....with very little cash (2016 almost paid off), more options, and only one years worth of payments. Used Tacomas in interior New England that have proven maintenance records are bringing phenomenal trade in value!

Got it cleaned for the first time after some trail riding so the guys installing my lift don’t have to deal with a bunch of dirt falling in their eyes the whole time put the paint protectant on there, paint feels really slick now. I’m interested to see how it holds up.9953B117-C6A1-42FB-85A7-ECFE92189AEA.jpg 9EEB7A54-71CA-4E51-AABF-5EB61A400C92.jpg

As much as I loved the idea of a custom, it fell through. But the good news, Victory 4x4 rack and my yakima tent are all installed.

Now waiting on the new Alpha Rex headlights for TRD models to be shipped out from TacomaBeast.

I’m actually really impressed with the Toyota paint protectant stuff that came with the truck, really made it shine. Looks better than when it came off the floor ha.

Pinch Weld work and installed Fend-X Wheel Well liners for some additional clearance.

I agree with ^^^^^^^^ as I pulled the seal even though it was ok and replaced it given it had 41k on it. New seal leaks so I get to practice pulling the CV axle again.

put together this rough video of some MESO lessons learned and left panel install cut out. Everything worked great for me, so this is just to give others an idea of what to lookout for. I for one didn't know about the clips. ps. I was also sick hence the heavy breathing. lol
