Roof Drip Moulding comes off easily

My 2018 drivers side just came off durring the dry cycle of a touchless car wash. I was lucky it was still on the ground when I rushed back. The car wash is going to replace it for me because it did get scuffed in a few spots. I will be adding some 3m tape or etc in the middle. It's a piss poor design with no clips in the middle of 3m along the whole length.

 

I have heard a few people mention this. I have only been to a touch free car wish or a pressure washer in the driveway, not a scrub style wash, but I haven't had issues.

I've never understood why some people would go to the trouble of recommending using the search. Why bother unless you're an ASSHOLE.

 

Rangers use aluminum moulding. Just another example of Toyota cutting corners IMHO.

 

There are pinch clips on the front and rear of the body to grab a center ridge on the strip. If you take a set of pliers, channel-locks, or vise-grips and minimally squeeze the front one, it should resolve the issue. The clips pinch that ridge to hold in place.

 

This happened on my 2nd gen. I didn't lose it but it was flopping around back there on the freeway. I pulled over & threw it in the bed until I could reattach it the next day. Never had another issue with it.

 

I had to take mine back twice. It was in the first month I got my 2019 pro.
My 2018 off road never had a problem.
