We haven’t had a dog in a few years now, been talking about it for the last year or so. In fact went to go look at a rescue St. Bernard a few months ago. We were told he was a little aggressive, so I figured We’d say hi to him. Unfortunately, he was way too aggressive for my family and our busy home.

Both my wife and I are teachers and think we will be home for awhile now, and this may be the right time to add a dog back to our family. We keep checking local shelter web sites, but nothing is getting our interest. Here is where my problem is, I don’t just want any dog. Our two dogs have been “Mr. Bojangles,” the St. Bernard and the rescue, “Huckleberry,” a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever/maybe German Shepard mix found just out side Mark Twain Forrest. Huck was a great dog, but I missed the St. Bernard, but was glad to rescue him.

this is where you might be able to help. I got time to travel, as long as gas stations stay open, I can social distance for the right pet. Any leads? At the very least, let’s help promote some shelters and get some of these pets into homes of good pet owners.

Parts of Maine have lots of farm land, we have some woods that’s for sure. We spend lots of time camping every year

Have you checked Bangor Humane Society? They’ve been remodeling it, it’s huge now.
