I’m trying to figure out if King 2.5 Coilovers 8” Travel will fit on my truck if I only upgrade the UCA and keep the stock LCA. Also will the mounting holes work on the stock LCA? Here’s some more info about it:
    • Product Collapsed Length: 16.0"
    • Product Extended Length: 24.0"
    • Product Mounting Size: 1/2 x 1.50

As a 2WD you may have a chance, but I think you're going to still run into issues with overall length and your tie rod clearance.

The reason the King OEM replacements have less travel is that they have a rod spacer/extended eyelet to get into the narrow space between CV axle and the tie rod. The spring on plain 8" coilovers will come down much lower due to the shorter eyelet and likely cause issues: even if that clears installation's going to be a PITA because you have an additional 2" of shock to shove in there (add ~.625" to the extended length for the tophat adapter)

    Here's a good thread from a guy who did a similar thing with 2.5 x 6" kings
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...r-oem-replacement-use-2nd-gen-tacomas.226774/

I'd love to see the write-up if you try it, but I think it's going to be rough and likely unsuccessful. If you want to mock it up, cut a piece of 4" PVC to the collapsed length and one to the extended shock length, pull your coilover, and see if the each spacers can fit through full steering range.
