I saw this video just posted a couple of days ago on Youtube by Robmotive, and it is awesome! There were threads on Tacomaworld referring to the fact that you supposedly cannot change the startup image on 2020 vehicles. While this does not address that, it is to me at least, a very informative piece of information that I think, is probably not very well known about, if at all. Watch it, and then if anyone knows of any OTHER secret screens on other Tacomas, such as 2019, then post directions here. This to me, is a very valuable video! Here is the link:

Can confirm that works on my 2020. Was too nervous to mess with any settings though as they are not very informative. Here’s to hoping more secret sequences are discovered. My previous Jeep Wrangler had quite a few, you could even disable the seat belt chime by doing the “steering wheel dance” as people called it

Thanks for posting. I just changed mine, yay, the vehicle color matches now.

Not many other adjustments, just diagnostics. Looks like you can adjust the hands free mic somehow some way but you would have to understand what and why of the number to input.

Now if there was one to change the startup picture in the cluster. That one has always bothered me, showing a white truck when mine is orange.

You sure your fuel tank door is on the right side of your vehicle?

That was mentioned in the original thread I got the pic from. Apparently he mirrored the image to get the correct orientation.

Thanks for sharing this! I just did this, but ran into a quick little hiccup. My truck was parked in the garage when I did this and the auto headlights were on. The lights need to be able to turn off in order to get the menu to pop up. Other than that, works like a charm. Thanks again.

Anyone try holding any of the other buttons instead of audio?

I just did this on my 2018 to see what options there were. Nothing fun, but there are plenty of diagnostic checks in there.

I didn't try that but had the same issue noted above where it didn't work initially because my truck was in a semi-dark garage. I was able to get to the menu by holding the Audio button while cycling 3 times between DRL Off and Auto.

I got a weird message saying "this vehicle will self-destruct in 10... 9..."

Another thing I have noticed since changing my truck to green in the service menu is that my front and side cameras come on automatically when I drop below 5 mph before I had to turn them on manually.

Mine have always done that - there must be a setting somewhere.
