Currently building my Exhaust setup. So far I have

SPEC U LT equal length headers
You need the 02 sensor extension harness too. Or lengthen your wires with silicone wire.

Looking to do a 3" sleeper setup.

Y-Pipe from JRFE - Waiting list

    Turndown before rear axel

Looking at the High Flow / Boost rated CATs too. Not sure yet.

    similar to this (not mine)

Benefit of the second muffler to keep the sound down? I will be running a black widow muffler and need to figure out what to do with the rest. Since im stuck in CA I cant go with the JRFE which I really want to get or any available headers since not currently getting rid of any of the cats.

Some tips on opening up the stock Y-Pipe and Routing would be helpful.

There are High Flow cats that he can put on there. He just recently did a dual offset high flow cat system for someone on his equal length Y Pipe --- So that might be an option.

Second muffler is to help with the DRONE that some of the exhausts systems cause. In my case, I just want it to be as quiet as possible..

I did ask him about it before but the whole CA carb legal deal came up. Most cats are not CA legal which would still pose the issue.

The title has too much crap going on in it.

Rename the thread to "Forced induction exhaust setups discussion thread" or something similar.

Try and keep the word BS out of it because it encourages stupid useless posts which otherwise will clog up the thread with nonsensical drivel which keeping future members from coming in and finding the setup they want to see more of easily.

With that being said, here is my setup:

    - TRD Supercharger
    - 2.5" exhaust from y pipe after cats all the way to the rear.
    - Black Widow Venom 250 series muffler

I was thinking SC/Turbo but Force induction works. Def pretty long but just makes it easy to search. thats what really matters.

I can go make a video of mine when the weather gets a bit better out here. I'm running TRD S/C, 3" aFe exhaust, y-pipe, and CAI. It has the drone you guys all mention and I'd like to eliminate. But man some of those sleeper exhaust setups sound great!

In the meantime I found this video on youtube of another supercharged Tacoma -

Here is a quick video I took today. My setup is JBA Shorties w/ Factory Cats, JRF Racing Ypipe, banks catback chopped over the axle.

Wasn't a full throttle hit but I rolled into it slowly to like 3k rpms them let her eat.

Trying to gauge what to do for my exhaust for the s/c setup.

Part of this is a bit of a guess from pieces things together

JBA Shorties/ Factory cats (CA) and all
2.5 piping from cats into Y pipe/ re routed into 3" collector and 3" back
3" in black widow muffler and 3" out dumped at the axle.

I assume I should get bungs welded on both sides just in case. If not which side should I have it added for the AFR? Worth having both sides? I have seen some but not as common it seems.

Truck will be 2.5 pulley, 650FICs, HPTune, Cam Gears so she will be putting in some work.

I just have a bung at the merge. If you have bungs on both banks it would help you diagnose issues. For me I have a UG where I can see somewhat is going on at both banks but its not as good as two independent full range sensors.

    @Murphinator & @nudavinci64 -

Someone mentioned to me about the 4 bungs -2 factory and 2 wide band - in the JFR thread. After reading more. Looks like thats the proper way to go. troubleshooting is easier. Plenty of gauge options that support Dual AFR/ wide band. Plus thats how the factory setup is as well.

Your setup looks solid as for what you have laid out already.

33 decided and listed for the JFR y's

    14 want 4 bungs -
    4 want 2 bungs - stock/ standard/ only verbiage
15 want 3 bungs - the 3rd at the merge area.

2.5" is pretty large for 3 cylinders/200 hp (each bank). Especially if you want low end torque.

    1 AFR or 2?
I have 2 because I wanted the extra resolution.

Also if you get/have the HPtuner pro version afr can be viewed in your datalog for more accurate tuning.

Nice, thats helpful. Playing dumb where would all the bungs go? I want to hit up some shots locally and feel I will need to direct them where items need to be.

Good to know. I am open for feedback. I know 2.5 is plenty but since the truck will probably be getting close to it in some regards what to do. I also have the option of a 2.5" muffler or 3". From the cat back open for options.

If its go JBA to regular piping do I widen the Y? What are you running in your Y's? What would be the benefit of the larger collector and larger going back? Seems to be common but was not sure except possible some back pressure release.

need the crash course on what to do. =)

I was mainly thinking of 2 AFR for the same reason. If I want to add a second for extra resolution then it is there. If not then I will plug it until I add it.

I do not have the Pro version but had thought about getting it as I learn how to use it more. @JustDSM is going to help me out with some tuning to start.

I place them a few inches from the stock o2 bung locations.
You want the bung clocked between 10 and 2 to prevent water accumulation.
You also want to make sure there are no clearance issues when you install the o2 sensor.
