It's hard to stay home. I think the stats bear the awful truth that many of us will get it. Most will recover. Some won't. I read a post on another forum from one of our Italian users that paints a truly terrifying picture. It matches what I've heard from a friend in Madrid, Spain.

I wish I didn't see so many people out and about practicing "social distancing".

Tbh I’m sort of slipping into somewhat of a numb depression.

I don’t like my life changing without my consent, though I understand the reasons. My wife keeps telling me to go out and walk but how can I when I feel like I shouldn’t be? I feel like my only choice is to follow the “only for essentials” rules in place.. I’m blessed to be working from home. But the constant wake up, work in my office all day, clock out, stay put.. it’s messing me up.

Call it first world problems I guess but my mental is getting dragged into darkness without my morning drives to work, blasting music and hitting the gas a little too hard off of a stop sign. Coffee in my yeti at the office, settling in to my day and planning my errands. Idk. I’m rambling.

Again, I understand why.. but I’m just struggling to adjust to this and thinking about how it could be 2 months or longer until we can get back to regular life.. just doesn’t give me a lot of hope. Everything is so unsure right now.

    It’s tough for sure.
You can leave the house as long as you stay away from other people. I went for a 3 mile walk down a road I wouldn’t ordinarily consider safe for walking on today. It was nice.
My work is closed but I can’t work from home. I was told I was gonna get paid but my last paycheck check doesn’t reflect that though. I’m staying busy and trying to stick to a schedule. And getting some exercise daily. I live in the Santa Cruz mountains so it’s sorta isolated. Which is good and bad.

Check this out. This dude knows what he’s talking about. 340 days in a row in space!

I completely feel you. I used to driving to work and doing odd errands during work to get breaks. I love being home with the kids (last week was a rough adjustment for everyone) but it is different and work keeps getting pushed aside. Wife keeps trying to set up zoom calls with the other dads we hang out with, just not my style. I plan on taking some drives to clear my head from time to time. Shopping yesterday was more stressful than relaxing.

Glad I got my essential trampoline for the kids last week. :D

    A few things
What otis24 said is the best thing to do. I work in construction and am constantly moving all day, so sitting at home can become depressing fast. I’ve been trying to jog/walk 3-4 miles a day. I put in my headphones with some old Howard stern show reruns and disconnect from the current state of the world. Since alcohol is not an option for me anymore it is my outlet from reality.

Much the same here. I'm a carpenter and my profession is part of the CA essential list. However, my boss decided to close the business for 2 weeks to mitigate his employees exposure. So, I'm stuck at home slowly going insane.

Today is rig day. I've got to pull a spindle and install a spare. Then swap out the LBJ on the other spindle. In normal times that would be a 2 hour job. I think I'll take at least 6 hours to do it. lol

I don't drink anymore either so finding a way to dumb down my brain has been interesting. Nioh 2 has been my go to for that. lol

Wouldn't mind being up there where you are. A little more remote is a good thing now. Much rather be remote instead of smack dab in the middle of suburbia.

This is a must, get out and take a walk/fresh air/sunlight every day. Other than that, its going to be interesting though which one of us family dudes cracks first from the stress of being cooped up with the wife 24x7... :goingcrazy: lol
