I have them one has an issue with the high bean getting stuck. I recommend cycling them a few times before installing, but I love the look

So far so good. The stock bulbs were garbage but adding some Supernova v4 Leds and Morimoto 2strokes upped their output to stockish(toyota) levels IMO.
I'm quite literally about to walk outside right now and take them off the Taco and begin the Retrofit process.
I bought Some 45wt Hylux Ballasts with 6500k Morimoto XB HIDs,Motocontrol H4 harness, and Morimoto H1 Mini 7.0 projectors.
I bought these brackets ( https://www.lightwerkz.net/index.php/spyder-mini-h1-bracket.html ) in hopes that it matches my Spyders for an easy Retrofit.
Think I'm gonna colormatch all the chrome inside.
Got some retro rubber for a proper reseal too.

Edit: Just noticed you were talking about those cheap Amazon HIDs and not the actual housings.
I sent back those HIDs after reading enough horror stories so I never actually used them.

Mine started getting condensation inside a few days ago. Even with a preventative bead of silicone before install. 1.5 years condensation free but now it's raining and both are fogged up. Damn cheap aftermarket crap.

Yesterday marked 2 years that I've had these headlights and they are still awesome! Zero issues with condensation. The lenses have some very minor peeling on the top but its barely noticeable. They look damn near the same as the day I installed them. I love it!

What lights? I'm trying to read through this thread to figure out what to buy, but it's hard to keep track of who's talking about what. My factory lights are all melted, and I'm past the window to have them replaced.

You're going to find that the majority of condensation, leaking, etc. problems are on aftermarket housings. Trust me, if you really want decent halogen lighting, go with the OEM housings and skip all the gooping of sealer you hear folks talk about with the aftermarket junk. Sure, some folks have aftermarket housings that have not leaked. How many OEM housings have leaked? I rest my case.

Works for me. Honestly, I think the halogens are fine. But it's not that expensive to play with the hid projectors either. I think that's what intrigues me. I could either spend the same amount if not more for used OE stuff, or, buy something like the ones in this thread, expect them to maybe not be the best.... so keep my old melted ones.... and worst case I'm out $300 some dollars and I just end up sticking my melted ones back in?

Just trying to weigh the pros/cons assuming maybe nothing really is *as good*. But is is better than melted?... haha.

Got the 05-11 Tacombeast headlights and ran with the halogen bulb for a year. Now that the warranty is up... what is the best LED bulb for the projector? My understanding is that they are H1 bulbs. Has anyone had any luck with an H1 LED bulb (don't want HID route as I have had bad experience in the past with them constantly burning out).
    Thanks everyone!

I think you're going to find that an LED bulb - even in a projector housing - doesn't really cut it. (At least they don't cause the obnoxious glare that LED bulbs in non-projector housings do.) Drop in LED bulbs just don't have any distance projection.

So what’s the best approach option?? Also does anyone have a housing convertor?

No fancy bulb is going to be able to overcome substandard optics in an inexpensive aftermarket housing. You either have to go to a full retrofit with high quality projectors or go back to OEM housings and do the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade.

Damn, really hope I would have read all this. Bought some H1 LED convertor and now the housing retainer doesn’t fit it properly.

Do you have a link for the brightest White Halogen you can install?
