Thanks man! This is 6" glass from Fiberwerx. They build the factory flare in to the glass, so I painted it black to help keep the factory look.

Q: Is the bedcage strong when tied in to factory bed bolt?

Finally got the axle tabbed for straps. I ended up using a 17" strap and tabs from Kartek. IMG_20200305_172831.jpg

I got mostly everything painted. I used Steel-it in gray for the axle and the link components in black. Hopefully get the cage and bumper painted this week. Painting those black as well. IMG_20200308_144041.jpg IMG_20200308_193134.jpg

@taco_sos One other question I've been wondering - mow much longer are your brake lines in the rear?
Would +4" over stock be sufficient for links?

I doubt it. I have the 4” extended lines from Wheelers and I have them tight at full droop. And I can guarantee he’s got more droop than my 13” travel leaf set up...

Good to know, as those were the ones I was looking at. They also sell ones that are 24" long -- not sure where that relates to oem though. Marlin crawler sells some that are 26" long.

    A thread here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/brake-line-length.340814/
Says that oem is 17.5" long, but also on Headstrong site, their +4" lines say that the oem length is 20".

    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p127/24"_SS_Extended_Length_Rear_Brake_Lines_(PAIR)_-_05__Tacoma.html

I could just go out and measure my truck but

EDIT: My oem lines are 19" from hardline bracket face to bracket face. Probably ~20" including that part thats behind the bracket.

I used brake lines from DMZ. I think he said they're 24 or 26 long. Theyre almost extended at droop.

Do you think you'd be able to fit the C/O in its current configuration without lengthening the wheelbase like you did? How are you feeling about its handling without a bypass?

OP might never be on here again, pretty sure he sold that truck.

Lengthening a tacoma's already long wheel base isn't that big of a deal.

Handling can be built into the link geometry or add a sway bar if it's too soft.

Gotcha, wasn't sure. I know he said he added a few inches by moving the mounts for the lower links. This has been an idea bouncing around in my head for a while, just seeing what sort of other things I need to account for.

It is really close on a short bed trying to stuff a CO and bypass in but it can be done.
Custom 4 link a buddy is doing:
    IMG_20210420_123438.jpg
I can't recall how much they moved the axle back but it wasn't much and won't matter a whole lot on crawling trails.

Interesting, good information. I'm just starting to play with geometry and fitment -- realistically I don't need bypasses (or link, lmao), but it's probably prudent to not design myself into a corner.

How much can you clock the lower-link forward before you run into issues?
