Second trip out with the Ryobi 40V saw with upgraded Oregon 16" bar and chain. Cutting scrub oak that burned in a wildfire 5 years ago. Batteries still had some life left in them, but both the bar oil reservoir and my knees ran out of juice. I still have my Husqvarna and Stihl saws, but the Ryobi is great for some clandestine cutting.

We had a small landscaping job done after the garage was finished. They had a Ryobi electric saw, probably 12" bar. Nice piece.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but the 40V brushless motor is a beast. Using the saw is effortless, you just set it on the wood and let it work itself through. If you try to force it through it will bog down a bit, but it's own cutting speed is nearly as quick as my gas saws. No vibration due to reciprocating mass of a piston.

We've been having highs in the 40's and lows in the 20's still, so the downstairs stove has been idling along 24/7 even though it's almost May. Not running it full-throttle, but still running it. Glad my wood is well-seasoned or I'd be worried about creosote with these low burns. But the output from the chimney looks normal (like water vapor, then just heat mirage once the wood breaks down to coals) and the chimney gauge says that we're still running in the 'safe' zone.

Very nice! I plan to build one here. What is the capacity?

We're still burning here too. Chilly air + stone walls.

About 5 1/2 cords if you stuff it but owner is older guy who kinda does the firewood as a bit of a hobby which is why he wanted the 4 separate bays . He doesn't go through much wood and likes to keep the different species in different bays

you can store 1 cord per bay if you keep to the 4' depth of the minor walls , stuff another rick's depth in if you wanted to come right out to the back side of the posts

    TL;DR ~ 4 cords in bays , 5 - 5 1/2 if you stuff the whole building

I have a similar response to the 'how much does it hold' question with my woodshed. It's 8X12, with 8 foot walls, so theoretically 6 cord. But if you stuff it to the rafters, probably 7.

It's amazing how waterproof birch trees are. This one lost it's top in a windstorm a couple of weeks ago, and it's been rained on once since then. Still full of water.
Sorry about the angle; I was still holding the Husky in one hand and didn't want to juggle the phone.

Got my scrounge on for a firewood mission after work tonight. Some people clearing land and looking to get rid of some nice oak. Lady said that it was worked up in 4 foot lengths next to the driveway, for easy loading.
Failed to mention the 50 feet of 40 degree slope between the road and the pile
Good thing I haven't been skipping leg day.

More firewood this weekend; made a run to the local sawmill for a load of hardwood cutoffs, and split up a big Ash from down the road that was blown down during a storm a couple of weeks ago. Ash isn't my first choice for firewood, but the price was right (they paid me $100 to clean it up and take it away). Got a little over 2 cord's worth out of it, too. It was too hot to be working outside in long pants, though. I went through two gallon jugs of water and I think I only peed once all day

It does burn hot, but doesn't leave any coals. If I load the stove with it for an overnight it's lived up to its namesake by morning, lol. Nothing left but ash.
