    Stock...for now..
    Hello all,

Loving this community, I've been learning a lot! Thank you all!

I recently purchased some new rims and tires ( 285/70/17s) for my stock 14' Tacoma TRD Off Road. I didn't think twice about the need of tire clearance until I pulled a foot out of the driveway. Yup, felt like an idiot for not researching this wheel upgrade further. :D

Since then, I've been looking for the solution - the right lift kit. I've landed on the Eibach Pro Truck lift kit, purchasing it this morning.

Tools are lined up, ready to go. Before tearing into this project, is there any other modification I should consider, other than cutting into some plastic?

Whatever it takes to accomodate these beautiful KO2s and shiny TRD Pro replicas, without making it look like I'm hauling concrete every day!

    Appreciate any help. Thank you!

    Chris

I'm not familiar with the kit but if it doesn't come with anything to lift the rear you might want to look into that. Otherwise you will be dragging ass. Shouldn't really need to do a lot of cutting of plastics if you're mostly driving on the street. Maybe plan on removing the front mudflaps and the small plastic air diffuser pieces in front of the front tires as well.

Ome 2.5 lift front and rear, 886 coils on 9k nitrochargers with hd rear leaf springs. Ko2s on level 8 mk6 wheels. Prinsu roof rack , Bakflip tonneau cover
Get some 1 inch spacers. Should be fine with those eibach in the rear.

All through this, you never mentioned where they rub. If they rub the upper control arms, you need wheel spacers. If they rub the body at full turn, wheel spacers will make it rub worse.

    Thanks again @BillsSR5!

@Muddinfun Appreciate that information. Yet to be known where the rubbing will be, because all i have to gauge at the moment with is the stock suspension. Will know more when i install the Eibach kit, then root out any issues from there. Trying to get a good grasp of potential issues to consider at this point.

3/1 lowrange spacer lift 285/70/17 wildpeaks
Get someone who knows how to do a alignment for lifted trucks
My alignment castre is set at 3*
pushes the wheels forward that gets rid of a lot of rubbing
I only rub at full lock in reverse sometimes

My recommendation is avoid wheel spacers and go with aftermarket wheels with the proper backspacing and width. Factory wheels are 7.5" wide with a BS of around 5.4". Tire size of 285/70/17 (approx 33x11.25"), I prefer a 17x 8" wide wheel with a backspacing of 4.25-4.5". You will need a minimum of 2.5" lift to run that size and a CMC may or may not be required. Just my $0.02.
