I recently replaced my carrier bearing and u-joints, now when I get moving from a stop I get a vibration for a second and then immediately goes away, I dont notice it when I'm at speed. I'm kind of thinking one of the new u-joints is bad but I dont know. I did do all the necessary markings to make sure it went back together the way it came apart.

Did you ensure that your u-joints are phased correctly when reassembling the shaft after replacing the centre bearing?

No I did not, didn't know about that. I knew to mark everything but not about phasing. I will have to check that.

Make sure you mark your shafts if you have a 2 piece and are doing a center bearing . Most people don’t even notice vibration in a stock setup but once you get into any lift you can shim your center bearing .
I have made angle shims for center bearings to not load the rubber mounted bearings .
You could have your shaft out by 180 degrees if you had it a part and did not mark the positioning .
Most driveshaft shops like to keep one piece shafts to under 67” for a one piece shaft I have gone a little longer with no problems .
You can never really get a 2 piece shaft in phase , most end up with a 2 piece with a CV on the rear half for best results .
I have converted a few Tacoma’s to 1 piece with zero problems and great results , that was for lift trucks .
As for stock just shim and deal with the slight vibrations .

Pretty sure that common characteristic of these trucks. My 15 TRD sport has a slight jiggle/vibration right when you take off from a dead stop. literally does it for a second. Sometimes I feel it sometimes I don't.
Maybe now since everything is new and tight you are feeling it. My truck only has 50k and the CB and u joints look perfect.

I've done a tone of research on this(this is my first Tacoma). Seems to be a common problem that even dealers cant figure out. They claim its just a normal characteristic of these trucks. Some are worse then others. After reading im glad mine barely does it. Some people have it way worse.
