Alright... so. I have the Bilstein 3'' lift kit with adjustable shocks getting installed shortly. It has 2.5'' adjustable front shocks with .5'' front top plate spacers, I believe 1'' rear shocks with Toytec 2'' leaf pack and a front diff lower kit. I just purchased the Falken 285/70/r17 AT3s. I currently run a 17x9 on my stock set up (265/70/r17) with 1.25'' wheel spacers, and I would like to upgrade my wheels to a nicer brand when I put the new tires on.

I know that I will need to do some cutting in order to not rub, but I am wondering what offset, width, backspacing, etc. on my wheels would be best to ensure I am not needing to do a cab chop as well. I would like to keep the wheel spacers on as I like the look of them, but I don't HAVE to have them. I would like to either go with a Method Race, Fuel, or possibly the TRD Pro wheel. Any advice?

I have American racing ar172 wheels. 17x9 with -12mm offset wrapped in 285/70/17s. Kind of an old school basic look. Perfect amount of wheel poke for me. I did the cab mount chop and moved the fender liner forward about an inch and now have no rubbing.

If you want to ditch the wheel spacers and maintain that stance you’ll need something with a 3.5” backspacing. I went with SCS Ray 10 recently and love them. I believe they offer a few of their wheels in a 17”x9” with 3.5” bs.

You’ll need a cab mount chop with that size tire regardless.

As for your lift goes, ditch the top plate spacer and run either a stiffer spring or more preload if possible to achieve the ride height you want.

Don’t run the diff drop, it does nothing but give you lower ground clearance.

And with that much lift you’ll want to look into at least some upper control arms to help your alignment. My suggestion is dirt king or total chaos.

    Here’s the rims for reference.
