    SR question...

My buddy is looking to buy a 2020 or 2019 Tacoma, preferably an SR. Mine came w 17” wheels and I have Cooper Discoverers on them which he likes. We both checked on Toyota’s website and neither of us saw anyplace to choose 17’s. Is this still an option? I think the brakes are different so I don’t think that it’s just a matter of putting larger size wheels on. Or am I missing something. Thanks

A picture of your truck would do wonders!

As it is, only the TRD Sport comes factory equipped with 17's. However, you might have the TSS model, which is a distributor package found on trucks in the Southeast. I believe those are SR's with 17" wheels. As they are a distributor package, they might not show up on Toyota's website. All Tacoma's come with 16's aside from the aforementioned Sport and the Limited which gets 18's. It will be no problem to upgrade as the brakes are the same regardless of which truck he gets.

Looks like someone just swapped some TRD Sport wheels and tires is all! Your buddy would probably find them easily enough on your local Craigslist or the regional BST thread here on Tacoma world. Good luck to him! And great looking truck you got there

I didn't notice much until I was standing on the side of the 20s at the dealer and those new grills really stick out. I'd guess you'd easily find some SR, SR5, or TRD sport grills in the market with everyone swapping them out. probably a cheap fix.

They are okay. I only have them because the dealer put them on before they put the truck on the lot. The chrome got scratched up through its first car wash so I just dipped them black. I’ll be getting a proper set of wheels and tires soon.

Got the fogs in a couple days ago. Did the switch on the left side of the dash install, same as I did on my previous 2019.

Thanks, yeah I found a cool tire place that let me do a trade in on the factory 245s for some 265 10 ply At Discoverer.
