I went off road this past weekend for the first since my last alignment (3 weeks ago)and now my steering wheel is off center about 8-12 degrees to the right. Does this mean that my tire alignment is already screwed up, or is the steering wheel simply not centered. Is this an easy fix, or do I have to go in for another full alignment?

After all the work I’ve done on this truck in the last month.. struts, shocks, rear lift, it kills me to drive with a crooked steering wheel now.

Have not found any good 2nd gen Tacoma DIY videos for this problem.

    Thanks for any advice!

The cam alignment bolts are eprone to shifting and the cam alignment tabs can become warped or flattened out when offroading hard.

The temporary fix is to get it realigned.

The more permanent fix it to run a cam gusset kit like the marlin lca gusset in conjunction with TC cam tabs gussets or the cheaper fix is to weld a bead behind all cam alignment tabs.

It is also likely that the alignment shop didn't apply the proper torque to the cam bolts, leaving them a little loose and more prone to shifting. Your alignment is toast.

My truck came out of the dealer alignment department with the steering wheel off center.

    Definitely bad alignment.

Can bolts are not going change the steering wheel angle.

You bent a tie rod. Take it to an alignment shop and they will verify.

It could be that an LCA moved. If one moves on the eccentric bolt it will rotate the steering wheel because the steering linkage (rack and tie rods) is a fixed length

Your are correct. The cam bolts are not the issue, may have bent a tie rode.

Its not gonna change the wheel by 8-12 degrees.
