I lived in Corpus Christi, TX for awhile and bought a house beside the Nueces River. The seller didn't tell me the river was infested with water moccasins and alligators. We didn't stay there long.

    One summer morning
    In that muddy river
    It was so cold
    It made me shiver

I had to wade in that river
Cause my wife left me and took the boat

I use to work at a large scale reptile breeder/dealer from 19-22 ish. Thousands of reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, etc. I have been bitten by snakes hundreds of times. Few times by big boids (anacondas, pythons, boas). Once envenomated by a mangrove snake just enough to have a slight burn, rear-fanged snake with poor delivery system (must chew it into you, took me 30 seconds or so to get him off). I went to the hospital 2x from getting ripped open (bad bites) from 6 ft. Lizards (one water monitor, one iguana). That said, I worked with these animals full time for years so that isn't that many bites per how often I handled aggressive animals. During these years I gained alot of experience in handling and understanding behavior, striking distances, movements, etc. I also drank alot on the job (hence, more bites). If your trying to picture it check the video of the store. At minute 10:45 they show a lizard around the size (little smaller) that bit me. Plus the larger stuff on display. Edit - at minute 12:20 it shows a water monitor the size that got me damn good, hospital good.

So, to answer your question. No, I was never bitten by a rattlesnake. I took that shit serious, did not drink on the job, and knew by then how to safely handle them.

It's more of a "early bird got the worm" situation. All the existing inventory in the US has already been bought and is currently being used up. The manufacturers are all plating catch-up for current orders. Most of the items are 2-4 weeks out.

It’s like @MQQSE is fucking magic or something.
Mentioned you to him last night and here you are!
Lurked in that thread of yours until it’s unfortunate demise and really enjoyed it. Learned a lot about TW in there.
Nice to finally and officially meet you man!?:hattip::hattip::hattip:

That’s really cool shit! I hung out for a bit in a reptile shop years ago. Was interested in the Herp world and managed to find this that was owned by an older couple who loved to teach people about reptiles. Was a lot of fun and they were great people.
