The only “stupid” “circle jerk” “dumb shit” going on around here is a bunch of people getting all upset because someone has a different opinion than the masses. I’m sorry @cynicalrider voiced his opinion and I’m sorry that I agree with him. Last I checked public forums were open to discussion, it wasn’t let’s jump all over the guys that disagree and cry to mommy (@Dirt King Fab , sorry you had to get involved in this petty mall crawler pissing match).

Honestly I appreciate a response, but that doesn't really change the fact that a fully fabricated lower control arm even needs a skid plate to begin with. I have never seen someone rub their lower control arms so much that the metal had failed. It's steel. Again you guys are the only ones doing it, so I can see people wanting the next useless feature, that's just good marketing and understood. But that doesn't change my opinion on them being a gimmick. It's a marketing strategy to set you apart from the other stock length lowers, and to have another product people can then buy in the future. IMO that's a gimmick.

I highly doubt it's not adding to that already high $1700 price tag for control arms.

But you guys can continue paying almost $2k for OEM length lowers to wheel fire roads and meet up in parking lots to discuss your $2k lowers, I'll just be over smashing some rocks.

High in comparison to what? Total Chaos? OEM? They can charge whatever they want because they are the only ones in the game building OEM style lowers for the entire 2nd gen Tacoma crew. We should be grateful because if it wasn't for either of them there would be NO options like 1st gen. It's either OE or Long Travel for them. There is no in between. Gimmick or not, the arms still perform their primary function under extreme circumstances over what would have crumbled OE and left you stranded long ago.

Do you see my signature picture? That was done on these style arms. I have wheeled the balls off these arms and they are still fully intact. An addition of a skid plate will not change the way they perform, and yeah they may have switched from uniball to ball joint, but the cost they saved on that alone gets shifted towards adding this stuff on and that's why they can still charge the same price.

Stick to riding motorcycles bud. This game is not for the frugal. You want to play? Then you gotta pay. That's just the way it is and that's the way it always will be.

I'm done entertaining this troll post.

This thread never disappoints. Of the 23,000 posts probably 1,000 of them are actual links to things for sale.

Listen here PAL, I will stick to riding motorcycles and continuing to be frugal and still enjoying my truck while not dumping way more money necessary and still explore this country just fine K chief?!

 This forum is sure gets entertaining when someone expresses their opinion on a brand/company/product. Some of you really need to get off these companies dicks.

I don't think anyone's getting pissy, there's just a disagreement on the value of the skid added. It does serve a legitimate purpose. Whether or not that's worth paying for is the point of contention. I think we should all just move on though because this conversation is pretty pointless, at least in an unrelated thread.

Messed that all up. Meant to say I've been looking for a deal on recovery stuff. Bad timing though, I'm off both jobs and while one is paying I am freezing unnecessary spending until this is over and I see how we recover from this.

If it makes you feel any better that's not a super great deal so you're not missing too much.

This is where I work (usually...if school was open) about 20 minutes from me.
I'd be interested in the high lift and plate, but the rest of the stuff I have or don't need. I'll reach out if someone wants the other stuff... Although I'd offer him less overall and we can work that out

Just look at it this way. Whenever you do find that deal you’ve been waiting for, it’ll be that much more satisfying since you have to wade through the shit posts.
