For those who have dipped the rear bumper did you just mask off or remove the covers? Also how many coats did you apply and did you use the glossifier?

Masked, taking the clips off is a PITA I heard. About 4 coats, no gloss

Removed the bumper, masked the inserts, more coats than I can count & glossifier! Worked pretty good for a couple years then... well... I live in Wisconsin.

Electric Shepherd: your badges look great. Assuming you flossed or fishing lined off the badges to coat them?
What did you use to reattach? did you have a way to use the factory adhesive left on the tail/fenders?

You can paint emblems without removing then. The front emblem is easy to remove, so you don't have to mask off the area and paint it.

Silver, THX - I have tried a few Plasti projects with the tape off and I didn't care for the results, so i thought i'd try remove replace.
Looks like 3M tape is the standards answer for reapplication...

I do admit that painting the emblems in place does take a lot of practice. Much easier to paint something separate from the vehicle but then you have to reattach. 3M seems to have the best tape, though I always suggest an adhesion promoter.

I'm in California and just dipped my rims. Didn't know an "automotive grade" plastidip version was a thing. What additional benefits does it have? Can i get it on Amazon?

Sounds like something designed to separate you from your $$$$.
The regular version has always worked great for me. And peeled if I changed my mind. If you need something more permanent, rattle can or powder coat.

Been watching this thread a while figured I’d give it a go. Not a lot of people go with the blaze orange but I think it looks good on the magnetic grey.
