I see I have a metric fuck ton of catching up to do on this thread alone, and that's not counting the HP Tuners thread.

Thank you for putting that up! I got mega preoccupied and didn't have a chance to get back to Jesse quick enough.

That's really weird. You may have a defective tensioner where the QC was fucky and the guy inspecting it was either ready to clock out on a Friday or you got the Monday hangover special. The next time you have that tensioner off take a Dremel to the stop and take a little bit off of it because my 69" on my 2.3 goes on just beautifully every time, no matter new or old belt.

I’ve gone through quite a few SC belts over the last 12 years. And even though I buy the same product number length these belts never seem exact. Some are slightly shorter, while some are lil longer. The first continental elite belt I bought after gatorback disappeared was super tight and just barely fit new. Unfortunately, it got shredded after 4 months when one of my bearings grenaded. I liked how tight it fit so bought another exact brand and it was definitely not as tight. This MIGHT be the reason @White lightning boosted

Where the heck have ya been biscuits?! We missed you!

That's true. QC on these aftermarket belts are so off sometimes. The Gates RPM series belts are built to order so the chances of there being a discrepancy in sizing should be considerably less which is one more reason why I don't want to go with any other brand or series belt now.

    Just some food for thought.

So I have an upgraded tensioner and the double bearing roller I'm preparing to slap on. The double roller came with an internal sleeve... is that a throw away part? I've looked at page one, and have the proper orientation but the only way this works is without the sleeve...

Nooooo!!! Definitely not a throw away item. You do, HOWEVER, have to cut down the billet sleeve to size. If I remember right you have to take a small piece of it off for it to fit all in there kosher.

The idea of that sleeve is to take up some free floating space inside the inner race of the secondary bearing that is in there. Without it, it's sort of just free floating in there and we all know that's never a good thing to have under high speed circumstances.

    20181031_172836.jpg

Install as such. Mark the excess that sticks out with a fine point sharpie or similar, remove it all and then cut the marked area off. Install and re-run as such..
