Dress in dark clothes and a black hoody and work outside at dark or late evening. It would be awesome. Most people would leave you alone.

No doubt come in handy for sure, this is the first garage i have that would fit a truck. In the past, barley fit a sedan.

Yeah, the truck is just too damned tall.

In my last house, I had a custom height/track door. The tracks followed the pitch of the roof. I could just barely fit it in there with the old RTT setup. I had a gantry crane rig to pull off the tent. Now, with the drifter and 35’s, I definitely do not fit. Hell, I didn’t fit with the 33’s. I’ve got room to change the height, but my wife said no.

    Yup.

Shes slower than a turtle with a Valium habit. I plan on 4.88’s. But first I need to “fix” a different issue.

I've read a couple of books about the Submarine Service. Also toured US and German subs. Cannot say I'd think any of the subs of that era were easy to serve aboard. Your God Father deserves a lot of kudos for that.

Tin Cans are Destroyers. I know some guys who were in my Unit for a time that were Sub guys. My Command Master Chief was a Sub guy. He's retired, and now is THE MAN who does most of the maintenance on the Pompanito. If any of you guys want to go get a private tour I can arrange it. Bring the kiddies, as well. Of course, we'll have to wait for this bullshit lock down to end.

Yes. Why did I not remember that?

Pompanito was at the Port of Redwood City for tours before it retired and was moved up to SF. I remember standing in line for a long time waiting to get on board. Much easier now.

My dad was a tin can sailor as well as a bunch of his buddies that I grew up around. Dad was a machinist mate and I learned tons from him in my early years.
Always though tin canners were a bit off. And machinist mates even more so. I mean who hangs out in the engine room in the belly of the beast and never intermingled with other people? Only the very odd ones I say.

My dad was a boiler tech on an oiler in Korea. Never finished high school. Became a pipe fitter, of course. A damn good one. If you live in Northern California, chances are you have been to, or drove by one of his jobs. He was one of the best, and ran jobs, and planned them later. He put together the plumbing and heating in at the hospital on Cottage, in Sacramento. He put in the water treatment plant in West Sac, near the river off Reed Ave. Did the upgrade there, years later. Did the upgrade for the water treatment plant in SF, next to the zoo. Did the water treatment plant in Santa Cruz. Way back when , he put in the labs at UC Davis. Just to name a few. The guy was amazing for someone who got a GED in the Navy. He should have been a mechanical engineer.

    I don't think that's a collection. It's just the beer he's drank since the shelter-in-place order.
