What are the best LED headlights on the market ?

If you listen to and buy into the marketing hype, all of the aftermarket LED bulbs kick butt. But of course this can't be true. Although "drop in" LED bulbs have come a long way in the past few years, they still can't match the performance of a good halogen bulb in a housing designed for halogen bulbs. Many of these LED wonder bulbs have wildly inflated claims for output (in Lumens), service life, etc. The only thing virtually all of them do is blind oncoming drivers with glare.

Yes, I know the thread is about H11 bulbs for 3rd generation Tacomas, but the results are pretty much the same for 2nd gen trucks. Spoiler Alert: They don't do very well.

Nothing works very well in the factory headlight housing. It’s designed for a halogen bulb. You’re better off finding a high quality halogen bulb.

Me to. I just installed the wiring harness today. SO EASY. And the quality is top of the line. Now just waiting on the new bulbs to arrive.

 

I think he was referring to actual headlights. not led bulbs.

If that isnt what he meant, then I'm curious what the best aftermarket LED headlights are.

 

I went with GTR Lighting Ultra 2 LED bulbs . Getting ready to mount them them in some spec-d tuning projector headlights that came with a H7 halogen bulb.......

 

Interested to see how this works. Crazy expensive bulbs in garbage projectors.
