No it was just past the big slickrock patch at the entrance once you get to that skinny diving board there's a tree after the first drop and I hit that with conviction

That tree claims a lot of people. The bush right before it is mangled from all the bodies.

To all the Southern California riders in here, are any trails in Orange or San Bernardino Counties still open? I know LA county shut down their trails, because people are dumb and couldn't maintain distance...

Got out and rode about 10-12 miles yesterday here in NJ despite the current "stay at home law". State parks are shut down im pretty sure, but the trail system at Allaire St. Park hasnt been shut down. Normal amount of people still.

Ergon seats Rock! I can't remember my model but it is an Enduro saddle that was not the race version. I rode up to 40 miles off road with the ability to ride the next day.

I've been meaning to do this for a while and since the printer has been going on other things for the last few days, it was time to hunt this down and get it printed.

Sometimes you just don't want to get all geared up to cruise around the neighborhood with the kids. And when you only have SPD pedals, using regular shoes with them SUCKS. So I hunted down a platform on Thingiverse, tweaked it a bit and printed one, hoping it would fit.

And by golly, it did. I haven't taken it for a test ride yet (because dark. And cold) but it certainly looks promising.

    20200328_200712.jpg

And since the pedal is double sided, they can just stay on because they feel like they're going to break if I try to take them off without losing first.

Not bad for a few hours of printing and $1 worth of plastic. :D

    Orrrr... flat pedals. :boink:

The snow didn’t hit us as hard as it looked. Went for a ride this morning. muddy as hell, but beautiful morning solitude.
Even got some Tenkara time in.

The last custom bag showed up this week, so the new Fargo is finally ready for some extreme social distancing. Haven't decided when and where just yet, but I'm probably heading out for a shakedown overnighter in the next week or two. Maybe. Depends on the status of the apocalypse, or whatever...

That would have cost a lot more than $1 and I'd have to change them out each time. ;)

Honest question here... First I must confess that I've never been into riding on the road. Even my 'commuter' is a MTB. I once thought gravel would be a fun way to spend the down days, but after a season I sold the gravel rig.
I don't understand the curly bars with hood shifter/brakes. I mean, aren't they designed so that you can get your weight and body position lower? It would seem that a gravel grinder or adventure bike (like @paleh0rse) would be better off with a flat bar and regular bike controls. If you're riding in looser conditions, and much lower speeds than road, then what's the point of the curly bars and awkwardly placed controls?

35 degrees with a 16mph headwind isn't ideal for a first ride of the year so it was a bit abbreviated.

I'll have to try a ride later when it warms up a bit. To 45. :p

I know a lot of guys are running the RF tailgate paid on their 3rd gen even though it doesn't fit properly. The frame straps don't like up where they should be... it does fit perfect on the older gens with the thinner tailgate however.

Race Face finally put out a new version:
    https://www.raceface.com/products/t2-tailgate-pad

Fox as well (they own RF):
    https://shop.ridefox.com/products/overland-tailgate-pad

You can see how the straps allow it to fid and width/curved tailgate:

    And a view on a 3rd gen:

I've ordered one to see how it is.. I am currently running the Dakine DLX pad and it works well, but the RF one always had the extra padding and helped the bike site a bit more secure.
