Miles running 35” tires

So I was talking to a friend threw a friend and I was saying how I am torn between 33” and 35” tires. He said I’m a fool to even consider 35” tires because they are to much for jeeps and Tacoma’s to handle long term. My question is if you have 35” tires how many miles have you ran them and what broken parts have you ran into? I think these trucks look unreal with 33’s but look beyond amazing on 35’s thanks for you input. I just don’t want to spend the $$ to build for 33’s then one day switch to 35’s buy one cry once!

 

What about 34?

 

Lol!!! Well my neighbour just bought 34.5 for his 4Runner TRD pro so I guess I’m questioning 285v 315

I just want to know if these trucks can handle the weight of over a 285 for a good period of time.

 

Ran E rated 35s on my Rubi. Never had an issue. Need to do some decent work to get them running on a taco. Probs replacing most the front end suspension arms anyway to fit them, so why not.

Same here, both my non-Rubicon wranglers with the smaller D30 front axle ran 35" KM2s and KM3s and never had an issue. Got about 60k out of them before they started cupping. I have 33s on my Taco now and would love 35's but i dont plan on lifting it

Just get 33's. Why push the issue if you don't need it?

 

Will depend on the tire but you shouldn’t have issues. No issues with mine so far.

I built for 35s but run a 33 in the winter, best of both worlds.

 

A lot of the reason is looks. I don’t crawl but do some fun trails and cool logging roads. I see the Tacoma on 35’s and to me that is the sexiest truck on the planet. Do I need it probably not but do I want it hell yes!

 

Thanks very much for the reply! That’s sorta my plan is to keep the stock rims for winter tires and go with something smaller but the more I see pictures and videos of Tacoma’s on 35’s more I know I want that Soo bad! Thanks!

 

People said the same about 33s. Once they get those, then 35s, you’ll then be envious of the 37s. It never ends.

Is your truck your daily driver by any chance?

 

It is but my commute is exceptionally short. I only drive it about 10k a year, less if we don’t take a road trip.
