Well, in the metroplex, road ain't so appealin due to the ovelroad of beligerant Aholes and cell fon zombie danger so Fat is where I'm at most of the time. Scott Sub Speed 10 commuter gets greenbelt duty, Fuji Tread gravel gets some play either light trails or greenbelts and actually more comfy on road than the road bike, then there's the cob web farm straight up Specialized Allez Sport roadie that sees little action unless group charity rides maybe and occasional brewery tour thing with local LBS. I just like gettin dirty and not having to stick to certain paths more often than not & also ridin in the rain is fat thing too (on greenbelts, nobody get bent about ruttin up trails) I wouldn't do it. :spy: Then there's the specialized rockhopper fishin bike with fat street tires, the ss Bianchi Rollo clown bike and the 2 Electra cruisers so yeah, I doodoo pavement at times:sorry:..........

    20190712_152014.jpg

Also ridin out in the open scalding sun 8 months out of the year on road rides isn't as special as some shady forest action either...........

Great looking color scheme, I like the dark blue handle bar tape. My white tape really shows the grease and road dirt quickly, I might change it up to something similar next time. The truck is super bad a$$ too.

Rode my road bike today for the the first time in three weeks, it was kind of eerie at first, like out of The Omega Man or I am Legend, no one on the streets, seen a few other cyclist, but far from a typical SO. Cal. weekend.

Right?! I have been riding all week and the streets have been nice and relatively empty. Rode by the mall last weekend and it was a ghost town.

I know what you mean, there are some steep hills I have to crank on my rides and they get me nervous thinking about them.

Out on my daily ride loop today and saw a couple sticking to the social distance orders by carrying an actual stick to maintain social distance. :boink:

Wearing a mask while riding...…. Sucks big time, - especially when it real hot out and you're climbing. Had it hanging on my Aero bars and a Cop gave me real hard look, so I put it back on.

Is a mask required for outdoors? I was riding today and approaching a couple on the sidewalk who were wearing masks. As i got within 10 feet, they did a 180 and turned their backs to me lol. I didnt realize a fake virus could be spread from someone flying past you on a bike.

In some communities in San Diego County (including the one I was riding thru.) masks are required for everyone outside, regardless of the activity. This law is soon to cover the entire county.

That sucks. We are planning on a century ride to SD and taking the train back this weekend.

As of today 5/1/2020, everyone outside in San Diego County is required to wear a face covering. Penalty: $1,000 fine / 6 mos. in jail.

Checking in. Since the roads have been empty and parks closed up until yesterday, I've been doing nothing but logging road miles on both bikes. Although I grab the "gravel" bike more often than the road bike these days. Mostly b/c it's already set up w the bags/phone holder and I'm too lazy to swap. They carry my extra tube, tools, charger, etc. But heres both. Just made new garage hangers for the road bike. Only 3 bikes in total but w/ a small condo, I don't have many storage solutions.

We ended up doing the century. No masks no issue. Masks on the train ride back. Tons of cyclists in SD.
