Just saw this thread gota sub now :D

So I just got my first cast iron skillet set in my life just a few weeks ago. Have done a bunch of fish, burgers and some jumbalya. Don’t know how it took me so long to do it. Looking forward to stealing some ideas from here.

Today im doing country style ribs in the smoker. And more importantly my first try at cornbread in a skillet. How thick do you guys pour your cornbread batter in? Typically I prefer doing it thinner, but not sure if it will end up crispy.

From the markings I would say they are probably on the newer end of things. There’s a bunch of websites and forums dedicated specifically to cast iron. I can’t remember the name off hand but one has a full list of markings by years. Sorry I can’t be of more help. Google around and I’m sure you’ll find your answer.

I could be wrong but the bigger pan looks like a date mark on it. 2-98?

Did a Chicken Pot Pie for supper last night.
Halfway thru sectioning it up the GF made me stop so she could take a picture first. So I stole it :thumbsup

Thanks! The crust is tricky because the GF is gluten free, but I cooked an 8lb bird Sunday night and with just two of us eating it I needed a way to use up a good chunk of leftovers in one go.

Best way to deal with those things. :)

I made chicken pot pie not long ago. Sadly all my cast iron is in storage right now so I had to make it in a glass pan. I think next time we go camping I may make one on the fire.

Peas, broccoli, potatoes, cauliflower, garlic, onions, brussels sprouts, mushrooms, carrots...and of course, chicken.
And it was a good way to use up the leftover gravy at the same time.
