Long time 4runner owner. Just bought a 2015 trd sport about 2 months ago. Had the grommet blow out of a tarp but stay on a bungie cord. 6 hour haul later got scuffs all over the tailgate. Any good home remedies you guys got out there? Thanks guys

Sorry I had to. In all seriousness you’ll probably need to paint it. Can try buff it out first and see if your satisfied. your truck looks super clean may need paint for it to be perfect. All good plenty of tutorials here for you to DIY - check the link from @JaCado

The general rule is that if you can feel a defect (scratch) with your fingernail, you're not going to be able to buff / polish it out. Looking at your picture, I'd say the majority of the damage meets that criteria. I'd recommend a re-paint by a competent shop if you're picky about how your truck looks.

That said, I'd still have an experienced detailer give it a shot first.

Gonna need a repaint to be acceptable. Good news is you should be able to drop it (the t/g) off and have use of your truck. I could see a one day turnaround at a competent shop. Be prepared though, paint can be expensive. With this being a basic prep & refinish it may not be too bad.
