Will the vF tuner be able to raise the red line in all gears? I would like to take my truck to the track to get a 1/4 time before and after boost. Are you still planning on producing your TT kits along with a tune for them? Will the vF tuner be able to adjust the tunes on the TT? You said last year that the single exhaust port and the merge point on the y-pipe were two major choke points in the exhaust system. I have a custom made equal length y-pipe for one problem and bought some heads off of a totaled truck which I am porting and polishing to take care of the other problem. I also have a set of titanium valves to eliminate valve float and valve bounce at high RPMs. The titanium valves weigh 43 per cent less that our steel valves which reduces reciprocating mass to run safely at higher RPMs. Some pictures are below.

 

I know people are super excited for a plethora of different items to be released by OVTune, but I feel like we should all wait on asking all of the nitpicky questions until after these products are actually released along with directions/instruction manuals instead of distracting Matt from finishing these products.

 

As I am new to this, with the new VF, how does it actually interface with truck? Will the necessary hardware come with the software?

 

You connect to the truck with a Tactrix J2534, which I believe you buy separately if I recall correctly.

Agreed! The product isn't even available yet. Try to have some patience and consideration.

I for one will not be recommending OVTune if prior tunes are not available.

Do I understand correctly that new purchasers cannot get the 2.0 tune......at all anymore?

 

It will be available as a tune for the vF tuner. It just won’t be a 100% copy paste, identical tune.

 

I'm assuming the bold above is referencing the 'tuned examples' and not a modified 2.0Final? But I could be wrong.

The bold above seems to corroborate that 2.0Final won't be available in VF Tune format (unless he's referencing someone modifying 2.0Final via VF Tune). But I thought I recall somewhere that Mat would provide a VF Tune version of 2.0 for those that have the flash kit.

So I'm pretty sure that if I wanted to have access to 2.0Final and any tunes I created from VF Tune, I'd still need a laptop to do it. Unless I can download VF Tunes to the accessory and load 2.0Final to the accessory, I'm stuck with using a laptop for one, and a HH for the other. In which case, I could just stick with a laptop for both.

It should probably be simple, but I'm having a hard time putting it all together. I'll just lurk some more and see what facts get defined.

That's the quote I was looking for. But I'm not 100% certain this means that as a Flash Kit owner, I could request a VF Tune version of 2.0Final, that I could modify in VF Tune and put on a handheld.

 

Regardless of any product, vF, Flash kit, Handheld, etc. A windows computer is always required / needed

 

A windows computer doesn't necessarily mean a laptop though. Without a hand held, I have to have a laptop. With a hand held, I could potentially get away with a desktop I think? That's if 2.0Final and any VF Tune's I create can be hosted by the same hand held. I'm just trying to figure out the best route here. Either way, can you comment on what's up with undelivered hand helds? I'd be willing to get a refund on mine and convert those dollars to a dedicated tuning laptop.

PS, no flack here... really enjoy the product but am just trying to figure out the best course forward. Likely to take you up on the dongle trade-in.
