    4 run, 2 don't
But since we're stuck indoors, and BLM is closed off, I guess I can remove my RTT and put it back in storage.

God, Alcatraz is my trigger word.

The number one question I got asked was “Do you have any Alcatraz tickets left?”

No. No we don’t. Because they sell out faster than the Statue of Liberty. You’ve got to buy them way ahead of time.

Also, my second favorite question: “Does your bus go to Alcatraz?”

It’s definitely electronically actuated, but you’re right I don’t see where the actuators are or would go.

Here is a different style 1KZ manual transmission. It has a physical shifter linkage to the transfer case.

    @benewing

Here is a 1KZ-TE that came out of a Hilux. I saw it in a transmission shop in Banawe, which was the car scrapping district of Manila. Unfortunately it looks like that one was 2WD looking at the tail section.

They wanted like $3k USD for it, that one was sold to the Philippine Army.

That would be a world-class engineering marvel to be able to sink piles 1600' deep into the bedrock beneath the lake...or the world's most amazing true suspension bridge

Lol!! They seriously think that’s a bridge? I mean, it’s not as bad as the first question.

My favorite memory of Lake Tahoe was when we were boating in Emerald Bay and looking at people climbing on the hill on the tiny island inside the bay with several signs that say “NO CLIMBING”.

    People really are stupid.

Maybe, maybe not. Because I looked at a few different styles and none of them have an exposed actuator.

Sure. But it’s run by the Federal Government. Have fun getting shot at.

I think this is what I'm going to do. People say not to get the 555 lowers though right? How do I know for real what needs replacing or not? If the boots are leaking they need replacement? That's like everything in the front end. Haha

I'm 5 lug but I've heard if leaking= replace soon, but have time (rly shouldn't wait). Clunking, popping with turning/going over bumps, wandering in the front I think are what u want to look out for with bad lbj's, and change ASAP---- correct me if I am wrong

Just replace them based on age like a timing belt. They’re known to fail. If they haven’t been replaced yet, you should replace them.

I went to NAPA for the outer 555 tie rods. They’re cheap and good quality.

Upper and lower ball joints I went OEM. You can do 555 for the upper, but never the lower.

Outer tie rod is OK for 555, but stick to OEM for the inner.
