Without the bolt head there might not be much tension on the treads. Poking with a dental pick tool where there is a slight ridge and slowly twisting it loose might work. New supercharger with clean threads so it may be possible.

Local autozone had some left hand bits handy.

Now I need a new bolt. Surge tank supports are same size but not that long. Home Depot is a mess right now too.

Thats why you broke the bolt. I wouldn't recommend a impact to do snout cutting. A drill yes but not on hammer setting.

standard cordless drill with oil at a slowish speed worked best for me.

Anyone interested in any Toyota repair manuals. Got some I thought would be worth some money. And grabbed a taco tranny manual. 45106EC4-536B-4775-83F0-27E142B269B0.jpg

I’m keeping with taco wiring diagram but make me an offer on any of the others. I was hoping the Supra ones would be collectable for people into that stuff. Might try to sell the complete 98 supra package on eBay or something. Any thought anyone? Or make me an offer and you can sell them your call haha

Well, I dug myself a bit ditch on the second one. Told @12TRDTacoma to make a note do not use an impact so anyone new can learn from that mistake. I am ore in the desperate point now, jacked that bolt up good and its stuck. Any suggestions? Looking for a good easy out. left hand worked for the first one but the second one my pilot got messed up and went sideways and messed up some threads at the end which is has it frozen on there.

    A few options:
    1. Get a good easy out (any good ones you recommend?)
    2. Try to tap and go for the center again
    3. Make a cut in the front so I can use a flat head to leverage. Not sure about this but its the last resort option.

I have a set of easy outs from snap on that are great but cost me an unborn child. That said I usually go for no2 the first time.

Yah I am going to try #2 again. its a bit jacked up now so either way its not pretty. Easy outs are prob what should be done but too many stories of bad easy outs. Bring those snap ons over. =p

I would attempt to make a small cut similar to that of what a flat head screw looks like. Using a Dremel or something similar with a VERY small cutting bit of some sort. Then use a flathead screwdriver and boom. That should help.

Thats what my brother suggested as well. I was worried about cutting but seems like it would be fine with now solid it is. I should still have some cutting wheels for my dremel.

BE CAREFUL and try not to slice the snout itself. You would need a precision cutting wheel for this. Or maybe even a diamond bit. I think they make those for the Dremel.

As far as snout cutting goes, I personally don’t see any need to use a drill of any kind.

I started out with a drill but really did not like the feel of it. Specifically, not being able to get any feedback from it.

I ended up just using a ratchet. I got nice big chunky shavings this way, could feel any resistance, and it didn’t take THAT long.

Way less time than breaking anything.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I used an air ratchet on the slowest setting with a vacuum hose running underneath it. @nudavinci64 that may have been the confusion. I mentioned an air ratchet but never an impact. You could just replace the shaft and be done with it at this point.
