I've also seen the aussies use a steel drum that attaches to one of the wheels (presumably it uses special lug nuts), and a cable that wraps around the drum.

would'nt trust that webbing to hold much, and to get out of the webbing you have to reverse... or go forward a few rotations... then back, and I can see a few situations where you'll be beating on these.. and for $279 for a pair.. they will be a PITA in certain situations.. but for an occasional short extraction they may be great. rather have an actual winch.

Anyone have any actual experience with these? I bounce between my 3rd gen and my T4R on camping trips based on the number of full size people with me and I'm sticking to logging roads and fire roads so no crazy crawling. Also have to drive a farm f-150 occasionally, which is the only one that seems to get stuck on a regular basis (that should surprise no one here). Most important the Aussie dollar is down to .57-.65 on the US dollar the last month. As an emergency back up, 279 Aussie dollars (~$175) is a whole lot cheaper that 2 (or 3!) winch bumpers that get used maybe once a year.
