Yeah it scared the shit out of me. No one was around the truck so it just did it’s thing. You can see the rock that went into the skid plate in one of the pics. I have used my ebrake tons of times to hold the truck without issues up till that point. From now on I will be using the line lock with wheel chocks if I need to keep the vehicle running. Lesson learned lol

Got my new Boss coilovers with 650lbs springs and skids. The transfer case skid took a bit to come in and I decided to replace the front after that last ride. Hope to install everything today.

Finished the coilover install yesterday. While they were out I took a wire brush to both sides, painted it with por15 and then used a top coat of self etching primer and black enamel paint. It lifted the front up almost to being even with the rear.

Still going to remove the AAL from the rear along with the tent since I have been mainly doing day trips lately. Might end up needed to lower the front a litte after all that.

It’s been a while since I have posted on here but here are some updates. Since moving to 35s I had started having some intermittent clicking coming from the driver side at full droop. I’m assuming the extra weight was pulling the LCA down farther and maxing out the travel on the CV shafts.

We ended up going on a Black Friday ride and I blew out my driver side axle and a inner tie rod trying to climb the last waterfall before ending the trail. I always seem to have issues at the very end of a trail if they happen...

The truck had to be towed home after a late night of changing a inner tie rod in a stream up to my knees because it was raining a lot and water levels were rising pretty fast. After that I was able to limp it out and came back the next day with a trailer. It has sat since then because it’s cold and I don’t have an indoor place to fix it.

I just ordered a a bunch of parts to fix and improve on some things.
    -Heavy duty clutch kit
-New rack since I destroyed the other one
-Preforged inner and outer tie rods
    -Preforged lower ball joints
    -New front bearings and hubs
    -Switching back to ADD
-Lotus Chromoly caged ADD front axles
    -Lower control arm skids

also doing some things to my 3rd gen pro, so I might take that out a little here and there.

I have all my parts and have started tearing it apart to fix some things. Pulling the trans this weekend to replace the clutch, then hopefully everything can be reassembled.

Been spending the weekends working on the truck. Managed to get the whole front end torn down, removed drive shafts, removed transfer case and trans.

Last Saturday we installed the new clutch, flywheel, and slave cylinder. We then got the transmission and transfer case put back in. Getting my drive shafts rebalanced, new U joints, and having the new center support bearing put on. Should be able to reassemble by next weekend hopefully.

So the truck ended up getting back on the road at the beginning of this month. We even took it out for a trail ride to test everything out. Seems to be working great but I really need to address my brake issues. Only feels like the front is working so I will most likely be switching to disks in the rear. What do people usually do for a e-brake when they switch to rear disk brakes?

Also my Monstaliner kit just came in the mail. We will be painting the truck Alien Dawn color in the next two weeks or so.

I’ve heard of people using a line lock for the e-brake when switching to disc

SOS makes a disk bracket for 4th / 5th gen 4runner disks with an e brake.

The truck has been really neglected since all of our time has been spent buying and moving into a new house. The mortgage people really like to fuck with you lol.

I broke a rear axle shaft right before going on an off-road trip and decided to finally paint it now that I had a garage. I still went on the off-road trip and took my TRD Pro. It’s bone stock besides 33s but it did really well.

Currently waiting on some chromoly shafts and a disk brake conversion to arrive. Figured what better time then now in a climate controlled garage.

Also had a CV shaft throwing a little grease. So I decided it was time to upgrade to some longer travel boots. I hope they take a little more abuse.

It’s back on the road but still not stopping fantastic. I’m going to delete the factory load proportioning valve along with the second line to the front. Picked up a manual Wilwood valve that I’m going to install and adjust. If that doesn’t do it for me, guess I will start looking at larger bore masters.

Went to windrock over the weekend and I have made the decision to switch to an Automatic transmission. Using the clutch 24/7 on technical rock obstacles was terrible. Can anyone give me a list of what’s needed for the swap? Does the driveshaft lengths change at all? Do I just need a computer, trans, trans mount, and shifter bezel?

I guess dual cases could be an option instead of going auto but it seems very expensive in comparison. Kinda unsure which direction to go.
